George Chuvalo Vid... I never knew the terrible personal tragedy his family endured

I had no idea about it either until I read Facing Ali. Terrible story really.

My favorite teacher spoke to me about George. Just said he was interested in bringing him to our town, to maybe speak to kids here. I really had no idea what the man has gone through. Our city is racked with drugs and addiction and crime.

Think I understand a bit more now why he thought it might be a good idea. If one person got the message, who knows, maybe save a life. Powerful stuff.

Chuvalo is tough...he was tough as a fighter but he's tougher emotionally. I can't believe he's still standing after all the stuff he's been through.
