Former IBF junior lightweight champion Malcolm Klassen (23-4-2, 13 KOs) brought the career of five-time world champion Manuel Medina (67-15-1, 31 KOs) to a sad end when he won their IBF 130lb eliminator in the second round at Hammanskraal on Friday night. Referee Andrew Smale stopped the bout at the Carousel Casino 1:49 into the round. Medina went down in the first round without throwing a single telling punch and without taking a particularly damaging blow. He survived the round but there was no doubt that he would not last until the end of the second. A couple of glancing blows sent him to the canvas again and he was intelligent enough to stay there until the referee did the appropriate thing. Klassen should be a worthy challenger when he meets Baloyi, a six-time champion, for his belt. The tournament at the Carousel Casino north of Pretoria was presented by Branco Milenkovic of Branco Sports Productions
Well hopefully he's alright with money and can get out with decent health.
On a lesser and more selfish note I am getting shit on in the prediction contest this week.
