    I'm here...

I actually thought Calderon was very fortunate that the stopage came. Anyone that knows Cazares knows his best work is done late in the fight.
I saw something happen I'm not sure if it's just me but there was something about the way Calderon sat in his corner as they poured water on him and rubbed his neck. I saw very heavy breathing by Calderon and Cazares was able to hit him well when he switched southpaw.

With all that being said, a win is win and Calderon won.
Congrats to him and I think this should mark the end of this one. They both need to move onto other things.
Calderon vs. Solis and Cazares should go after Canchilla or Sosa.

I agree Cazares comes on late but I remember Calderon winning the last rounds of the 1st fight! So who knows.

Anyone that knows Calderon knows he ain't got power so going the distance is something he's used to!

Calderon was boxing brilliantly & I feel he would have continued to do so!

But your right Mick they should both move on & maybe down the round they will meet up again for a third.

I want to see Calderon/ Solis!!!

I think Cazares should return to 112 at least!

    Right...
The weight issue... I agree he should move up to 112.

I see what you're saying. From the shitty feed that I was watching, it appeared that Cazares was finally starting to land a few punches, and from the first round on I was seeing things that kind of reminded me of Cotto-Margarito. I'd never seen either fighter before, and I'm not saying the outcome would've been the same, but Calderon did look a bit gassed in his corner in the last few rounds.

OK, so it wasn't just me...
I noticed the water being poured along with the ice and neck rubbing.
Anyone that's seen Calderon before knows that's not like him.
When he came into the round he stood there in place with his hands up as Cazares threw shots. I'm not saying these were thunderous shots. Shit I even think the punches were hitting Calderons gloves but my point is that I saw a shift change there and I think Cazares would have switched it around.

I must agree Mick that I've never seen them pouring the bucket over Calderon before. But Calderon is one of the few fighters I feel could of fought 15 rounders without concern! Going the distance is one thing you can guarantee when Calderon fights!

I will need to rewatch the interview because I do not recall this comment from Calderon. I am not saying it is not correct, I will just check, may be I was going for my beer at that moment.

I am not sure that Cazares was going to do any better in the last rounds, as Margarito did with Cotto. This is based on the first fight where Cazares could badly hurt Calderon, but the Iron Boy could survive and recovered his rithym to dominate the final rounds adn Calderon superb skills. Calderon was saying during his pre-fight interviews that he was going to choose right moment to stop a little and fight Cazares, and I believe he was starting to do that. He had indicated that his strategy was also to save some energy for those last rounds. With all punches that Cazares missed, I can think that he was more tired, and don't forget frustrated, than Calderon, but who knows if Cazares could connect a good body punch that took some air from Calderon also.

And, I also hope this is the end of this saga, and both of them move to other challenges... Cazares definitely should move up in weight division.
