Did i read this right, your friend has been training for 3 weeks and you are gonna allow him to fight. To answer your question there is no way you should allow him to fight after 3 weeks of training. I cant beleive you are even considering putting him in. From what you have expained about your friend he doesnt sound like he is ready to have a fight if he is taking a knee during light sparring, that shits embarrasing.

Well like I said, he can't fight, but he's safe to train.

He can "operate" safely without physical contact.
But when he gets tired and gets hit he'll just switch off.
