Stacy,
I'd like to ask you a few questions if I may.
I saw a youtube clip of you defending your opperation insisting that evryone should have the right to step into the ring... Although I agree with you, I'd like to ask you about a few of the things said in that clip.
At one point you stated that you "do what you do" so that your everyday working man can step into the ring. You said that it's the "silly" commisions that bar fighters that lack funds fromstepping into the ring... Things like medical and equipment costs keep fighters in other states out of the ring.
You don't see this as dangerous? You think that a properly qualified, trained and medically sound fighter not be the only people allowed to fight profesionally?
Statements like this are the type that make your opperation seem like a farse.
Here it is in your words for posterity

Well sir , I believe that we are endowed by our Creator
with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit
of Happiness. That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted
among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.
And when one believes in this and he or she is an American that he has
to give a fighter a choice. But your belief is like saying George Bush and
his friends at the Gas company are raising Gas Prices to help with Auto
accidents .True less Middle Class American will be able to afford to drive
anywhere other than to work , But I really don't think that is enough
reason to make it were only rich and famous people should be able to
afford to drive and enjoy life. The same about boxing , I have been
only KOED(Were the referee counts to 10 )once and that was against
Donny LaLonde and I suffered a bad bad eye injury were I thought
I was gonna be blind because of that hard right hand that SOB has.
So I did not think about getting up ! But now I have been TKO'd
many times for being over matched or out of shape! And I have
never had one MRI. And you know what I don't want one ! Not even a little
one!Because I feel fine and it cost $1500 in my state ! Someday you need
to read the whole story about boxing because the millionaires from HBO and
PPV are only the cover of the book, And people making money to
pay house payments , Shut Off notices and just help feed
the family is whats in the beginning , middle and ending of it!
Thanks

Granted that people throughout history have shown that boxing is the perfect social experiment... It show Italian, Irish and Black fighters fighting through monitary duress in order to feed their families and this all happened at different times showing us the state of affairs with a given demographic over time...
It's what made boxing the way that it is... The sport that it is.
This is not to say that things don't evolve.
Whether you think it's right or not there is a reason why fighters have physicals and MRIs and reflex tests. It's to keep the fighters safe, not to keep them down.
The way you're looking at the sport is as if the government says "to hell with the common man"... That's not it at all. It's saying to hell with ring deaths... To hell with Cerebral Hemotomas... To hell with seeing guys end up like Gerald McClellan...
The sport does not need anymore black eyes... It has enough.
That's why energy should be spent to form a boxing union... Not to promote regular joes who don't have enough money for medical bills getting in the ring and getting themselves or the other guy hurt.

But that doesn't mean it's right... so I reiterate...

Did I say it was right?
It isnt right that coal trains loaded to the gills drive right buy miners who live in run down trailers
But its the way it is
And lets face it the 900 bucks we made in Sacremento filled the oil tank and bought a ton of food for the year
And we're relatively high end for this business

Nor does it mean that it is wrong.
Tell you what POB, come up with money for Andrew to live, pay his bills, raise his kids and put food on his table without him getting the ring and I personaly will put a stop to his fighting.
You know the funny thing is, most of the people Praise RJJ for his fighting skills in the ring, but you don't hear to much about the "pit fights" or the "cock fights" that he puts on. Can't look to closely at their "Star Fighter" when they do wrong, now can we.
As I have stated in another thread, I have seen worst fighters than Andrew in the ring, but they are not members of this forum, and such are not always close at hand to degrade in public. Did you know "Tent Fights" still happen in OZ?

Ghost i normally agree with your points but i disagree with you this time i haven't exactly got alot of money since my dad passed away its me my girl my mom and few other family members money wise but we still manage and i don't know what RJJ has to do with this at all i don't agree with cockfighting or etc but i don't see what this has to do with this thread........
The fact is Andrew Hartley has no Amateur fights and he has just gone into the pro game with no experience or no skills and despite what SOB has said i don't believe for a second that Andrew Hartley has been training seriously at all and they have probably just learned him few basics and thats it but you need alot more than that especially in the pro game and all that keeps happening is him getting KO'ed and next time he gets KO'ed he may be seriously injured for life then tell me how he could earn money ?
I do Amateur boxing and i've had a few Amateur fights but before i was even allowed to fight i had to prove to my trainers i could handle myself and my trainers do actually care for my health where as these guys here like Trainer Monkey and this SOB are feeding Andrew Hartley alot of BS and thats the reason he won't try anything else to earn money or etc because people like this are brainwashing him..............
Sorry but i don't agree with this at all and he is being used because he isn't a good fighter so people can take piss out of him online so SOB gets famous online i love boxing and i love competing in it but this is just plain wrong.

As his career currently stands. he will be lucky to earn a whopping $1000 a year in this sport. Yet every time he steps in the ring, he exits with less of a chance to take care of his family in the future.
Nobody is doing Andrew any favors here. Nobody is giving him a grand window of opportunity, and they damn well know it.
