And when one believes in this and he or she is an American that he has
to give a fighter a choice. But your belief is like saying George Bush and
his friends at the Gas company are raising Gas Prices to help with Auto
accidents .True less Middle Class American will be able to afford to drive
anywhere other than to work , But I really don't think that is enough
reason to make it were only rich and famous people should be able to
afford to drive and enjoy life. The same about boxing , I have been
only KOED(Were the referee counts to 10 )once and that was against
Donny LaLonde and I suffered a bad bad eye injury were I thought
I was gonna be blind because of that hard right hand that SOB has.
So I did not think about getting up ! But now I have been TKO'd
many times for being over matched or out of shape! And I have
never had one MRI. And you know what I don't want one ! Not even a little
one!Because I feel fine and it cost $1500 in my state ! Someday you need
to read the whole story about boxing because the millionaires from HBO and
PPV are only the cover of the book, And people making money to
pay house payments , Shut Off notices and just help feed
the family is whats in the beginning , middle and ending of it!
Thanks

I keep trying to explain this concept to people, fighting in the dirty south isnt the way it is in the rest of the country,or the world for that matter. Its hard scrabble on a good day.
But that doesn't mean it's right... so I reiterate...
Granted that people throughout history have shown that boxing is the perfect social experiment... It show Italian, Irish and Black fighters fighting through monitary duress in order to feed their families and this all happened at different times showing us the state of affairs with a given demographic over time...
It's what made boxing the way that it is... The sport that it is.
This is not to say that things don't evolve.
Whether you think it's right or not there is a reason why fighters have physicals and MRIs and reflex tests. It's to keep the fighters safe, not to keep them down.
The way you're looking at the sport is as if the government says "to hell with the common man"... That's not it at all. It's saying to hell with ring deaths... To hell with Cerebral Hemotomas... To hell with seeing guys end up like Gerald McClellan...
The sport does not need anymore black eyes... It has enough.
That's why energy should be spent to form a boxing union... Not to promote regular joes who don't have enough money for medical bills getting in the ring and getting themselves or the other guy hurt.
