Default I retire from the Baggins Clan

Ive more important things on my mind. Silly clans. No offense to Bilbo, who I quite like, but I cannot be Gandalf anymore.

    I retire.

I miss things that normal people just dont think about.

So Ive decided to quit my job. Finish my MA in my own time. And go home for a while. I dont have a computer back home.

Nobody cares if im Gandalf or not anyway.

No, I dont think so. I just want to see my mum and sister really and just have a rest. I will need to finish up here first. I need to clean myself up a little bit so a return home is needed. Korea has been good, but it has left me drained.

Less than 2 months to go, until my contracts are all up. Then im gonna come home and binge on kebabs. And then just read and chill as a man should sometimes.

But no more Gandalf stuff. Give that job to a young man that needs it.

Bilbo will be crushed. I wonder who he'll pander to to replace the Great Geezer Gandalf

Sounds like you need a long rest Miles, before you start running your head into walls You seem wound pretty tight right about now; best wishes man

In fact we should have a referendum for the new Gandalf. But Clubber should probably not be included.

Hey Miles, sorry to hear your clan duties have left you drained my friend.

You've been a wise and respected wizard and we'll be desperately sorry to see you go but it sounds like you are about to go through a big life change.

Yuo quitting your job and moving back home for a while? I presume you and your missus are ok?

Good luck with whatever you decide to do Miles, you're one of my oldest friends on the board, and were the first person to welcome me to Saddo's when I joined all those years ago, just a wee sprog of a halfling that I was.

Seriously hope things are ok with you Miles.

Actually I think the clan is purely symbolic these days. I hope the other members will keep their shiny avatars but people move on and some people even grow up

I just need a holiday. Its all been agreed. The Mrs has allowed me to do what I want and that is to come home for a while. I miss my family and normal life. And Ive an MA to complete. And I posted before about my meds issues.

Korea just seems to rile me the wrong way and I need a time out.

Its not so much a case of quitting my job as a case of a tough contract coming to an end. Im drained and any magic or spark is gone. The wife and I are okay. She can see more than anyone that what I have been doing has been wearing me down and leaving me tired and old. My mum isnt well off and needs help financially and I can provide that. She needs my direct help. And I need old comforts too. Like I said elsewhere, its a case of fixing my sleeping issues, finishing my masters and managing to resolve my conflicts between life at home and life in Korea.

Im grateful for a very supportive wife, without whom I would probably have gone much madder much longer ago. Im okay, but then Im not okay. Going home cannot alienate me much more from anything. So that is what I will do.

I like the symoblism of Gandalf. It fits me quite well. But the Clan is not a serious thing these days and when I post I want to be just miles. At least for the time being.

Well they say a change is as good as a rest and it sounds like this will do you well.

I understand what you mean about just wanting to be Miles for now, I guess it's hard to try and take your life seriously and plan some serious changes when you post in a forum under the guise of an elderly wizard.

Indeed. Im always miles so thats okay if I go awol for a long time. But as Gandalf thats not so okay because the hobbit folk might miss me sometimes. Its unlikely, but, it is a possibility.

Don't worry I'd miss you but as Miles, not Gandalf.

You can take your costume off and still be friend of Bilbo. Obviously I'll keep mine as I don't know how to be anyone else now, my online alter ego has consumed me and I am indeed more hobbit than human these days

Let me ask you you, who is the bigger shitcunt, the one who starts a gang, or the ones who join, or even worse, the ones who decide to then start their own gang?

I think you'll see that there are a lot of 'shitcunt's' on this site.

But I am proud to be the original the one who started it all. I'm eccentric, nothing wrong with that
