I am one who belives berto is better than most think. Prior to getting the belt his progression was coming along nicely and he seemed to learn something from each fight, he's not the greatest fight in the world but i like to see guys that are definatly pointed in the right direction and i think he is. I don't see him having too much trouble with forbes, it won't be an easy fight by any means but at the end of the night he'll have his usual scare or two but cruise to a win. Since getting the belt his choices of opponets have shrunk but forbes i belive was a good choice other names have been thrown out there but as much as i like berto and as much as his fans may hate it he should take as easy fights as possible without looking silly..

I really like Berto, but I've noticed that because of how he fights there are breaks that opponents can take advantage of. He isn't a smooth, seemless fighter, like Floyd or RJJ. He fights a little choppy sort of like Mosley. Guys like WInky and Forrest timed Mosley because he was robotic, and Berto is as well to a degree. Don't get me wrong when he punches, Berto is a beauty to behold, but his movement is really choppy, and he needs to counter more. He has Roy Jones Jr type speed, but he needs to use it more, When an opponent is coming forward Berto needs to make them pay by counterpunching, but instead he gets cute and tries to fight overly defensively, He is not Floyd Mayweather, he won't be able to get away with it against guys like Margarito, Cotto, etc.

This is why he needs Floyd Snr in his corner, because he can learn to counter punch and still be very hard to hit like Guzman is. Not only that but Floyd Snr also teaches fighters how to roll with punches effectively, he really emphasizes balance and staying overtop of your feet.

Not to many fighters can be compared to RJJ and Floyd... I mean lets see how he fairs s he continues his progressions.. Like mar says he gets better with every fight.. Against Rodriguez he showed such an improved defense with shoulder rolling and a bit of a modified shell.
