Ah shit what a shame. If he really was coughing up blood and in that bad a state though then obviously they shouldn't fight.
I can't understand this though. I mean if he was a huge lightweight struggling to make the weight it could be understandable but he's a featherweight moving up
Is this the end of Guzman? Will he fight at junior welter next?
Bizarre. I was really looking forward to this one too![]()
Dam he came in 3.5 lbs over the limit and suffered from dehydration and what not...hope dudes ok but there must have been some serious issues in his training camp or lack of preparation or something.
What a waste of talent.
Its not like there's a killer at 140, that might be the next move I guess.
Juan Diaz vs Nate Campbell rematch ?
What can I say... Guzman did not really prepare for his biggest fight in the proper way...
Hope he's OK...
.
The problem was, Guzman arrived at camp weighing 170 pounds, and he had to loose 35 pounds in 6 weeks. That is going to take a massive toll on anybody!!
Well that sucks. Hope he's alright; but what a fool.
I'm having heavy thoughts on this development...
Millions of fans protesting the move of a 135 lbs. champ to fight in 147 lbs. division because that champ is "too small"....
Now we have a 130 lbs. champ who can't make the 135 lbs. limit scrapping the biggest fight in his career and pissing millions of fans...
Well I guess, this is boxing...
Not with standing some unknown/disclosed medical condition.......Guzman and his camp have only themselves to blame.Sad statement on professionalism in the biggest stage & fight of ones career.
Ever the cynic thoughAnyone think that all of the publicised B.S with Mississppi comission over the judges had anything to do with this ?
That really sucks, Nate is a stand up guy and as much as a Guzman fan I am, he never seems to catch any luck. Oh well, what the hell though, Guzman has sooo much talent, one of if not the most talented fighters in boxing but this weight issue is ridiculous. He doesn't even have a big frame even for 130 he was never the bigger guy, the food must be good in the Dominican. Oh well, that really sucks. A great night of boxing turned into an average one.
