Read what he said. Even you Hatton fans can't deny that he is clearly ducking Collazo.
I'd like to see the rematch too, but don't hit out with the ducking crap. Hatton wants the big fights. Collazo is not a big fight. Mayweather, Margarito, Castillo, Gatti. Those are the big fights and Hatton doesn't plan to be around long to entertain your skepticism, just because, shock horror, he didn't blow away one of his opponents. What's that, maybe 1 fight out of 41 that he didn't win convincingly? Oh wow, I guess we should remove him from the P4P list and rag on him until he knocks Collazo out.
I know that your'e a bit sensitive on this matter...& it is like riding a dead horse through the pasture...it's old...& it stinks...& it's a bit uncomfy to discuss...but if you say that the man get's a rematch...give it to him...the next day...don't watch tape & say...errrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmm...maybe I better bail & rethink this...it is the man's title that he was given.
Anywho...Hatton is still a great fighter & all that...but just like so many other fights over the last 2 years...I just think that it was the incorrect decision.
What's done is done...but a draw woulda been better...
Personally, I think it was stupid of Ricky to say immediately after the fight that he would give a rematch. Emotions are running wild and, quite frankly, I think the criticism stung Hatton initially and he genuinely wanted to shut the naysayers up. After having had time to reflect, I completely understand why he wouldn't want to
waste his time with a fight that would only interest the die hards.
He did win the fight. Scored round for round, I can't see past Hatton, despite him not looking like a winner when he was hurt in the last round.
