I can't get into trash talk when it comes from a guy with as goofy a voice as Tarver's. He actually can come up with some decent stuff but the voice kills it, he needs to keep a pen and paper around so when he's interviewed he can just right something down and then show it to the camera.

As for the fight I'm kind of conflicted, I could see him getting to Dawson but could easily see him looking very old and slow too.

See it's his goofy voice and milk dud head that makes me warm to him.

When in his ehated argument with Clinton Woods he stood up, slammed the table and said 'Look how pretty I am!! Look at this face, do I look like a fighter to you?!' he had me in hysterics.

I think everything he says is tongue in cheek and he likes to laugh at himself. He's undeniably a funny guy and I thought Dawson looked uncomfortable and nervous yesterday, although that may be as much to do with having a camera pointed at you than through facing Tarver.

Nonetheless Tarver is one of the few showmen in the sport today, he always hypes his fights well and creates drama no matter what he does.

I've got a feeling he's going to ice Chad Dawson.

I'm one of the few Tarver fans out there, but I'm also a Dawson fan. I can't root for Dawson to get stopped, but I've already said it, I think Tarver is a nightmare matchup for Dawson. Dawson has leaky defense and he is chinny. Tarver is an excellent counterpuncher with power. Dawson's greatest asset his handspeed, but he isn't faster than Roy Jones. Tarver is 2-1 against Roy Jones with the loss being a close one. Yes, that was a younger Tarver, but Tarver still has power and he still has counterpunching skill. Now that he's older, he fights in spots more, but that's all it may take against a chinny fighter. If feather-fisted Eric Harding can put Dawson on his ass, what the heck is going to happen if Tarver catches Dawson flush.

I would like to see a close UD for Dawson where Tarver looks good and goes out honorably to a young lion, but I have a bad feeling "Bad Chad" is going to get himself sparked.

I really want Tarver to win as I feel he simply gets no respect. If you put a post on here and said 'does Tarver deserve to be in the Hall of Fame?' for example most people would laugh and say 'no way, he's a bum' etc overlooking the fact that he has 2 wins (should have been 3) over the great Roy Jones, plus wins over every other major lightweight in his era, Johnson, Woods, Harding, Griffin, etc.

His awful showing against Hopkins can be atributed to weight loss imo, Tarver looked awful in that fight.

But aside from that he's competitive with any fighter in the division, even at almost 40 years of age.

A win over Dawson would seal his resume as truly one of the best light heavies of the past 20 years and probably see him get into the hall of fame.

I know most people on here will likely vomit at the thought, but for me the guy deserves it, or at least would do with a win over Dawson. Right now he's not quite done enough imo, a win over Chad and he gets in.

Yeah, I see that. I also think in the Hopkins fight it was an terrible matchup for him, especially coming off the weight loss. Hopkins came in the master gameplan and his best punch is the punch you need to beat Tarver. Tarver played right into all of Hopkins strengths. Take away the weight issue, I still think Hopkins wins, just like I believe Tarver would have given a younger Roy Jones problems.

If he beats Dawson, I hope people give him the credit he deserves.
