I remember saying a couple years ago that mixed cards would be the future of both sports.
I'm not sure if I really like to see them mixed on big cards as I think in big PPV event both sports should stand alone.
But I love the idea of mixed cards at a smaller level.
I personally would love to go to local MMA/Boxing fightnights it would make for great variety and great entertainment, introducing fans of both sports to the other and helping with crossover appeal.
Like Lance however I don't want major boxing or MMA events to mix and match. Both sports are big enough to stand on their own and the major HBO cards and UFC shows shouldn't be diluted by having anything other than that particular sport on the card.
One thing I'd like to see more of though is women's boxing on boxing cards.
Women's MMA has been a tremendous success on Elite XC often producing the most exciting fights of the night.
Some extra money and publicity for the professional woman's boxing game would be welcome I think, and I actually feel having some attractive female boxers would add to the appeal of the sport.
Just think how much publicity Gina Carrano has brought to MMA in general and the Elite XC in particular. She is practically the biggest name on Elite XC's books after Kimbo.
