I agree ICB I also think its good to take the knee to get your bearings. But in the heat of the moment I think a lot of fighters look for that opportunity to counter while their opponent is attacking or they don't want to show how hurt they really are...
Yea and also with that; by taking a knee when your opponent is getting wild trying to finish you, you are giving him the same chance to breathe and think things out as you get. It becomes a big judgement call whether you will be able to recuperate enough in those 10 seconds and defend yourself more intelligently , when your opponent can measure a better attack in that same time you are trying to recover.

It's unpopular since majority of the boxers taking a knee in a fight ended up losing that fight...

Not many were smart enough to fully take advantage of a "knee" breather... The one that remains standing almost always has the upperhand...

Many just consider taking a knee a losing effort...

Its a funny one, I never did it, thats why Ive been chinned a few times. Whether its because there vision goes and need time probably to clear. Ive been on my arse a few times, thinking if I get up this cunt will Kill me. But I still got up . Some time winning , sometimes finnishing back on my arse
Pain lasts a only a minute, but the memory will last forever....
