I dont deny the appeal,but I havent watched a Nascar race since Petty retired,and I have a cousin that raced unmodifieds(yes there are Northern rednecks)his hero was the guy who got decapitated in the late 50's early 60's,and I swear even though they lived in a Philly suburb,his nickname was Skeeter

Been a good ten years or more since I watched Nascar races or Forumla One. They do not show them down here in Oz too often and lost interest some time ago.

It reeks of Redneck,mind you,my sperm donors family is from the Carolina's,my Grandmother is off the rez Cherokee on that side of the family

Most of my family lives in Georgia, have some Cherokee and Seminole in the blood line way back. Thing is, I remember what the trem "Redneck" used to mean. Not the up-dated version going around now. For the working folks in the south it was a somewhat word of pride. It used to mean a person who was hard working and honest as the day is long.

As for nicknames, Skeeter is not that bad. If I set my mind to it, I could more than likely come up with a few worst than that.
