I think Mosely has looked at Mayorgas fights against Trinidad and De La Hoya and sees himself doing a similar number, both of those fighters were younger and fresher when they fought Mayorga and Ricardo didnt really go in, in shape with either.

Mosely gave Cotto a close fight but in comparrison, what the big but limited Margarito did to Cotto puts Shanes performance in perspective.
Mayorga manged to hurt both Trinidad and Oscar (as he himself admitted) but just ran out of steam then started taking punches, if Ricardo gives himself a fighting chance and comes in, in shape, I see him being to much for Shane to handle at this point.

Mosely hasnt had to fight an agressive fighter for a long while, someone who will push him and let their hands go, hes been given space and time to work by his recent opponents, he may get a shock early, realising hes in a fight and hes got old (in boxing terms).

Mayorga is awesome, im fed up of reading how Mosely is gonna wipe the floor with Ricardo but I just dont see it

When both were at the top of their game Ricardo beat Forrest Twice and Mosely didnt Twice.

Mayorga didnt train for De La Hoya (I dont think) and had given up on his career after already taking a pay day and not training against Trinidad.

I think the Vargas win although not a big acheivment, has given Ricardo a new lease of life.

Mosley has never been stopped. If Cotto couldn't do it, Mayorga sure as fuck isn't going to. This is a guy who fought a fat, shot Vargas to a MD. The same fat, shot Vargas that Mosley stopped twice (though their first fight was very competitive).
SSM is a class above Mayorga, even at his advanged age. Mayorga isn't exactly young either.

Mayorga was a big strong Welter knocking out other big strong welters, Cotto was small.

Mayorga was weighed down in his fight against Vargas, knowing he basiclly didnt beed to make weight, I doubt he trained much

Mosley will easily outpoint him. Never mind that Cotto couldn't stop him, prime Vernon Forrest, who at the time was big and hard hitting WW, couldn't stop him. Oscar never hurt him. The only guy to ever hurt was Shane Mosley was Vernon Forrest. Fact.

I know Mayorga beat Forrest, but they are completely different fighters and styles make fights. You beat Shane with a jab. Winky, Forrest, and Cotto all beat Mosley with the jab. Even a older version of Shane eats wide swingers for breakfast. Mosley on points or late stoppage.

I see this as a waste fight for Mosley. Surely he could have fought a top guy at 147lbs and get back in the mix. At 36yo i really see this as a step in the wrong direction for Shane.

By your reckoning then, Mayorga has the better punch resistance seeing as Forrest is the only man to hurt Shane but couldnt put a dent in Mayorga with clean shots and free ones at that

So when Mayorga lures Shane in to a shoot out he will be the last man standing and I guarantee Shane lets his emotions get the better of him come fight time, Mayorga aint done as a fighter and he certainly aint done as a shit stirrer
