By your reckoning then, Mayorga has the better punch resistance seeing as Forrest is the only man to hurt Shane but couldnt put a dent in Mayorga with clean shots and free ones at that

So when Mayorga lures Shane in to a shoot out he will be the last man standing and I guarantee Shane lets his emotions get the better of him come fight time, Mayorga aint done as a fighter and he certainly aint done as a shit stirrer
You get hurt most by punches you don't see coming. Anybody who has ever sparred, never mind fought, can tell you that. Forrest's jab allowed him to disguise the right hand and catch Shane flush and off guard with a perfect punch. And Shane recovered.

So now its Mayorgas greater skill level that allowed him to slip and block every punch coming his way and counter more effectively getting the ko

Mosley should dominate by TKO with his speed and better physical condition. Mayorga best times are gone, specially after those vicious left hooks from Tito

You really need to learn a few things about boxing. Mayorga kept Forrest on the defensive, out of his rhythm, and Forrests style played in to Mayorga's hands. I never said it was Mayorga's nonexistant skill level that allowed him to avoid the KO blow. There are plenty of times Ricky Hatton never takes a flush shot and it's not because of his defense. It's because he keeps people on their heels with workrate, angles, etc, and that's what Mayorga did to Forrest. Forrest didn't control the fight with this jab and superior reach in the Mayorga fights the way he did against Shane. I think that's called "ring generalship." Different matchups, different styles. Forrest was able to do that to Shane because he a stylistic nightmare for Mosley. Against Mayorga, Forrest couldn't control him with the jab and he couldn't cope with Mayorga's unorthodox style.

Like I said before, you beat Shane with a jab... controlling distance and disrupting his keeping him out of his rhythm, disrupting his rhythm. Shane slids and steps in, you calmly put a jab in his eye and set up your own attack. If you run in wildly, trying to overwhelm him, you allow him to sidestep and counter you with fast combinations. Sure, he may eat a shot while dishing out a three punch combo, but he'll land three times to your one. Mayorga doesn't have the ability to cut off the ring and make his aggression effectively against Mosley. It's going to look a lot like Mosley against Vargas, maybe not as decisive, but that's going to be the end result. Mosley UD or stoppage 10+.

Go ahead and get in your last word, ross, it will just prove how little you know about this sport. This fight isn't even up for debate. You minimize Shane performance against Cotto by calling Margarito limited. Yeah, well George Foreman was limited, too, and he beat Joe Frazier. That doesn't take anything away from Frazier. You just don't understand how these thing work this work.

Oh, let me guess, you'll come up with stupid one liner and put a smiley face up and declare your the winner. Tool. Care for a sig bet?

Honestly Imo,I think this fight makes no sence.Mosley is nearing the end of HOF career with some vitality in the tank and this is the best promotion can do ?

Mosely is probably too good for Mayorga. But, I like the wild man Mayorga and hope he is able to at least give us a performance to enjoy. Shane is probably too slick though.

So Mayorga has the ability to take people out of their rythm and when you take Shane out of his rythm you beat him.

Foreman was undefeated, Margaito had a bunch of losses and not just early ones, recent ones against Williams and Santos, he is limited to who he is able to beat but he managed to make Cotto quite like a bitch, Mosely couldnt.

I think Mayorga can fight harder than Shane can at their respective times of careers and Shane does take shots, with power and resiliance like Mayorga you dont want to try trading while your 37

Mosley won't stand in front of Mayorga. You don't get the concept that matchups make fights. You haven't given me a reason why Mayorga is tough matchup for Shane. I've given reasons why other fighters have been able to handle Shane. I could go on about Shane's resume but it would take too long. Mayorga's resume includes two wins over Forrest and that's it. You clearly think that because Mayorga beats Forrest, Forrest beats Mosley, Mayorga beats Shane. That's the only logical premise for your argument. Except is does work that way in boxing. Shane will box circles around Mayorga. He's much faster and far more skilled. Power and resilience of Mayorga? I remember him getting sparked rather easily by ODLH and he basically quit, totally demoralized because he realized he wasn't in the same league. He'll find out the same thing with Mosley. Mosley might not have the power to take out Mayorga like Oscar did, but he will frustrate and demoralize him. It's not even close.

Mosley has never boxed circles around anyone, he has done well out of his speed, outlanding but at his age he wont be able to fight hard, against Cotto he threw one punch at a time, he cant put the big combinations together any more.

Mayorga has always been able to fight hard and fast even when not in shape for at least 4 rounds, if he is in shape (I hope he is) he will just be too much for Shane to handle, hes not the small Cotto who doesnt take punishment very well and fights at a very low pace.

I see Shane getting caught in a brawl and Mayorga swarming all over him, then Mosley will realise he has no place in a boxing ring any more, he doesnt have the kind of style that will allow him to be competetive at this age, he trades and that will be his down fall.

If Mayorga had fought Oscar before he was beat by Spinks, I think he would have done the same as he did to Forrest, Spinks seemed to take his care for his career away.

I think the Vargas fight has rejuvinated his desire a little.
