You need to brush up on your boxing history a bit. He was on tv a lot in the 50's and 60's. He fought some good fighters, Griffith, Paret, DeMarco. With regard to his first few fights being against guys with losing records, you only have to look at new guys fighting on ESPN2 to realize most new fighters are brought up fighting guys with losing records.
I wasnt questioning his pedigree, as I said I've never heared of him let alone seen any footage, so I would be wrong to do that. My point about the 21 fights he fought was'nt so much about the records they had when they fought him but more to do with the fact they never fought anyone but him. I see he got through the 21 fights in 12 months which is impressive enough but at least 50 of his opponents (if the stats are complete) only ever faced him.
