It's not fair to Margarito to say that Cotto lost the fight because Cotto "got tired." That makes it seem like Cotto lost because he wasn't in shape.

Cotto was in great shape, he didn't lose because he "got tired," he lost because Margarito made him tired with an effective body/head attack.

Oh I'm not taking anything from Margarito by saying Cotto got tired...the pressure Tony put on Cotto pushed him to be that tired. I think Cotto also got his nose busted up as well making it harder for him to breathe but hey Margarito won fair and square and was very impressive to withstand those punches.

Had Cotto been more light on his feet he could have done more sticking and moving and less staying in the way of Tony's punches. But that being said Cotto sat down on his punches further tiring his legs out.

Cotto will fight a faded non puncher.

A Baldomir or Castillo would make sence.

Cotto should just keep on going with his career as normal. He is young and he is still one of the top dogs in the division. He don't need to stay away from nobody. He can beat them all. Margarito was just the better man that night but Cotto could be the better man next time...can you say triology??

Cotto has to show me he can box for 12 rounds to deserve the rematch, he also ran out of gas against Mosely who isn't as big as Tony. Maybe Mosely can get a rematch if he whoops Mayorga.

Basing from the result of the 1st fight, I don't think this match-up is going to a 3rd fight...

But even if it was a very convincing win by Margarito in the 1st fight, I agree that they should fight again to give Cotto a chance for redemption... or give Margarito the chance to totally silence or shut out Cotto...

Cotto would not fight washed up guys at this stage, he is elite.

Not sure about that. Look at his resume. He didn't look that dominating against washed up guys like a past-his-prime Mosley and when he finally faced a ranked big name in his prime, look what happened.

Baldomir would be an acceptable opponent. Castillo would not be. Castillo is a rotting corpse and wouldn't last more than 2-3 rounds with Cotto, and he'd be lucky to last that long.

A good match would be against someone like Urkal again. Someone half ass game, but no real threat. Baldomir wasn't a bad suggestion. But Baldomir is big and strong.
