This totally ruins it for me! Holyfield was skilled enough and you have to think he used these performance enhancers pretty much since moving to heavyweight! I have no respect for drug cheats.

Well to be honest it should make a big difference but going on what has happened to past boxing drug cheats, then everyone will forget.
Shane Mosley, James Toney and Roy Jones
All did exeptional feats in boxing and all wer caught using steroids
This is part of the reason Shane will lose this weekend
For any clever replys about Mayorga using banned substances it was a diuretic against De La Hoya, not a performace enhancer, he was too lazy to make weight and train![]()
Are you sure Shane was caught using steroids? I know there was some sort of nebulous association with BALCO, but I don't think he ever tested positive. Nor was there evidence he was shipped steroids as was the case with Holyfield. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
Steroids was not the only thing BALCO was into.
The Evan Fields thing was laid to rest by the government.. there wasnt enough conclusive evidence.. innocent till proven guilty.. Evander was never proven guilty or failed a test
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Roy Jones using a substance that was legal at the time?
Oops
Mosley never tested positive, but admitted to using illegal performance enhancers by BALCO, saying he was duped into it and thought they were supplements.
I'm not too sure how I feel about the whole steroid/performance enhancer thing.
I'm against cheating and all that, but another side of me thinks that I'm being too naive and that most world class athletes use roids or some sort of illegal performance enhancer.

I have no problem at all when it's a legal supplement.
When it's a banned substance like stanzol, "the clear", EPO, etc....then I start to have mixed feelings. I don't like that, but maybe the reality is that the majority of world class athletes use some sort of illegal substance.

Oh I absolutely believe that %95 of all pro athletes are using performance enhancing drugs, sport organisations are too scared to be strict for losing the money the stars generate.
I do get pissed of with boxers who use it as they get credit for cheating, Jones and Holyfield are the worst offenders, for all Evanders religious shiit and Roys high regard, its just not earnt.
When you look at all these athletes performances after being caught cheating, they drop.
Usain Bolt I believe is the most glaringly obvious choice of abuser, how anyone can go from being mediocre to blowing away Two world records in one olympics is laughable.
There was a german sprinter who was the only sprinter to register with the drug something or other, he siad its a joke how the Jamaicans use drugs and get away with it and how Bolt turned up at the start line not warmed up and then broke a record.
Alot of these athletes have fans that think you are a "hater" when you acuse there sportsman of taking steroids, well they are naive and the only way around it is to have very public tests before and after every pro sport competition, then we will see the stars suddenly become average.
I'm not sure if that would work either. I'm not too clear on the whole thing about cycles and how long it stays in your system, but I hear that a lot of steroids don't stay in your system for long. So in training, athletes can take the drugs and train harder and get better, then it's out of their system by the time they are tested.
They'd have to test during training as well.
