Khan and Hamed have few similarities in the ring! Hamed had a grat chin and was never stopped. Hamed had genuine world class power and only lost to the very best opponent MAB; Khan has world class skills also but nowhere near as much power and a glass jaw.

Khan has proven nothing and does not deserve to be mentioned besides Hamed.

Hopefully with time Khan will prove to be of that level but he has not done that yet.

    I agree 100% with piye.

I don't see the comparison at all.

In 19 fights Khan hasn't even challenged for the British title let alone win it - and now been SPARKED OUT in 54 seconds by a NOBODY.

Khan will NEVER achieve even a fraction of what Naz did.

When Naz lost he was one of the biggest names in world boxing, won 3 or 4 world belts at featherweight, highest paid featherwight in the world,a proven mega star.

When Khan lost he was one the best lightweighs in Britain.

So no,there is no echoes of the Prince IMO.

Okay go back and read it again... the comparison I'm making is not as a fighter it's as a person.

Oh and Naseem could have could have achieved so much more had he not lost the plot, sacked his trainer and started to believe that he could walk through everyone. Hamed has a very good legacy but Legend - not IMO.

Dont have to be very good to be a legend.

Fighters like Bruno,Gatti and Benn are legends but would never be considered all time greats.

Another point I was making fighters like Bruno who was to be kind limited got massive support when they lost - we should try giving the same level of support to fighters that are winners - the whole British fight fan mentality is kind of wierd. I would agree with Benn being classed as a legend he gave us some great fights... but Bruno ?

I think Khan will come out of this a much better fighter than he ever was.Obviously it'll take time, alot of time to regroup his confidents, but he really needs to start from scratch. He needs to ignore all of the press, change his promotor.....basically start from the beginning and wipe the slate clean. Why does'nt he get on the new Hittman(RICKY HATTON) promotions or the new Hayemaker(DAVID HAYE)promotion? There great prospects and he'll trust them too!

Exactly - He's lucky in a way that he's made mistakes early and has a lot of time to put them right. He should go back to basics - his strength is is his boxing and he's doing himself a diservice if he's trying to walk through guys instead of boxing his way to an opening and if the chance comes taking advantage of it.

The difference is though Naz had already achieved EVERYTHING in world boxing - WBO, WBC, WBA, IBF champion and top P4P fighter.

Yes Naz lost the plot... and was probably an underachiever.

    But Khan hasn't achieved ANYTHING.

I agree... Like I said I wasn't comparing their records I'm comparing the mistakes that Khan is making - they are the same ones that Naseem made. The difference is Khan is making them before he's even really got started.

Naseem did not achive everything in world boxing - he failed by his own standards by losing to MAB. A fight he could have won if it were not for the decisions he made outside of the ring

Whether or not Naz would have beaten Barrera had he done things different is irrelevant. He had a GREAT career. He lost to a GREAT fighter.

Sorry.. but I dont see what you are left with concerning the khan comparison? They have both been in car accidents. They signed SKY deals. They both changed trainers.

    That's not much, is it?

You missed my point or maybe I didn't make it clear. I wasn't comparing Khan and Hamed as fighters or their records more the way Khan seemed to be heading as a person and professionally and that some of the decisions he is making could mean that like Hamed (a great fighter) will not realise his potential

Wouldn't an Audley/Khan comparison have been closer?

    Spot on.

But I hope Khan learns from his mistakes and becomes a champion.
