Lacy throws clubbing right hands that someone on Joe's level could see coming for a mile.. I'm not saying Pavlik is the quickest puncher, but when you watch his fights, notably from the recent fights, notice the first right hand that he drops on his opponent.. I remember rooting for Taylor, and as soon as he got hit with a right hand, he wasn't "stunned" as in physically stunned, but he was stunned mentally, he wasn't expecting it.. When you watch Lockett sit there and get hit with Kelly's right hand, he had the same response..

To be honest, I think that Pavlik mostly resembles Kessler, in regards of style.. and look what Calzaghe did to him.. Kessler had a few rally's but nothing more.. The HUGE difference between pavlik and kessler, is that Pavlik will be absolutely relentless the whole fight, while Kessler was a bit conservative early on, then he got frustrated and almost gave up towards the end it seemed..

Pavlik's chin is not even a factor in this fight so i don't know why anyone is talking about it.. If you think Joe could KO Pavlik then you've had a FEW too many.. The main factors will be CAN Pavlik connect with the right, and if so, HOW often..
Kessler's success was on the backfoot in the earlier rounds, Calzaghe avoided all the 'straight' punches he threw while Kess was trying to come forward, which is why he got discouraged. When joe cut out the mistake of leaning in too much Kessler had very little succes until joe started trading in the final round.

    Its the same old story....

X will do this to Calzaghe, Calzaghe cant do this, Calzaghe slaps ect ect. Each time Calzaghe flips the script.

Im not and never have been sold on Pavlik. He sparked Miranda, but then again old man Eastman almost sparked him a few round sooner, if he didnt have so many miles on the clock he would have. He beat reluctant fighter Jermaine Taylor twice, almost getting himself sparked out in the process.

Pavlik Calzaghe a 50/50 fight. A few years ago Calzaghe would have wiped the floor with him as he did Lacy........he still might.

is a good thread hahaha and i folded the little prick in half without so much as the use of his fave weapon... the "" smilie

    All too easy Memph.......
I think he likes Violent gang "members" up his ass too (i mean theres enough of them from Saddos crawling about up there already) hense his "internet" gang (he must have got into that kinda practice in prison)

You know, that really works both ways!LOL

I guess you guys are excited by your new hero.. like a kid with a new toy.

I predict in two years time Pavlik will be the new Lacy.
#1 Pavlik is not my hero, but he is a fighter I respect. He takes on all comers. There should be many more like him.

#2 Joe has shown indications of preferring the safe route. On top of that he feeds complete and utter bullshit to the press in the hopes to promote his current fight he has lined up. Contradicts himself left and right in his quest to go out in, this is his own words mind you, a "Blaze Of Glory". The guy is a fruitcake plain and simple. I cannot believe I used to respect that turd.

Pavlik may very well lose soon, maybe even against Hopkins, but at least he is approaching his craft with old fashioned honor and dignity and willing to test himself.

Well played Dean. Smashup? I've rarely read your posts but you've come off as a douchbag in like two of the last threads I've read...

Look... Joe is a great champ... A HOFer in IMHO but do please remember what Pavlik is... A warrior. Joe claimed to be and.... I know... I know... Frank Warren was the reason he waited til the best men were past it... I know Hopkins ducked Joe... I know Jones ducked Joe....

I like joe but open your fuckin eyes, man! He allowed himself to get protected out of his legacy.... You think in 50 yrs people outside of Wales will preach his name? NO!

Ride his nuts into retirement cuz he doesn't have the sack to face kelly cuz he's afraid of ghosts!... Sorry, buddy

    FACT!

    Nah, man...

    You're just deluded...

Kind of like me when I thought my New England Patriots could go over 21 game undefeated... I forgot what it was like to lose.

You're pitting your aging champ(who has fought with great merit) against a young champion who can keep his foot on the peddle for as long as Joe can... You're talking like he's already won and talking like an asshole at that...

Smashup... I'm fans of fighters but I don't grab onto their nuts like they spew milk... chill out and open your eyes and talk about HOW he'd beat Pavlik and not that it would just happen...

There is no leader here we all have our own opinions i don't care who it is if i disagree with someone, i'll debate with them no matter who it is. Most of Joe Calzaghe's best wins were on the downslide IMO, no one is doubting Joe Calzaghe is a class fighter but his record has some question marks for certain............

But he is also on the downslide IMO he isn't as fast, nor is his combination's as effective, plus his power has totally gone. I think Kelly Pavlik has a great chance against Joe Calzaghe, he is much more proven at world class level than Jeff Lacy was, who was struggling with mediocre fighters even before Joe Calzaghe fight.

Self-esteem issues, huh? If you say it enough times you might convince yourself. It's obvious you can't edit my posts to your liking like you do in the other board. Sucks, huh?

Agreed amd SERIOUSLY... I like Joe and as much as I hate his style... It's effective. Joes best wins ARE on the downslide od his career.

Nomatter... Joe has done fantasticly in the past two years.

I just do not enjoy the goating of nuthuggers.

Pav Calzag would be a great bout. I think that either has a chance... I've given oppinions in other threads but in the grand scheme it's a pick em fight.

Since I been here no mod has ever edited any of my posts. I don't think I ever seen anybodies post edited by a mod. Yet all of a sudden a baby mod does it cuz I criticized his favorite fighter. No wonder that board is a grave yard
