    Nope, way off.
Armando Muniz is in my sig. below Jorge Arce and above "Nacho" Beristain.
Had a look at your favorite fighters list and i noticed "Ruben" i know your obviously implying Ruben Olivares, but another mexican boxer popped into my head Ruben Castillo ?
Nope not Ruben... I thought you saw Ruben Castillo fight vs. Salvador Sanchez?
The guy in the pic. looks nothing like Ruben Castillo.

That's Awesome! I'll be honest and say I haven't the slightest clue. I can't wait to find out and read up on him historically and view the stories you post.

    Good Stuff, Mick!

    Here's a hint.

In 1990, my dad tells me. Guess what happened? I said I don't know.
He said my my boxing friend past away a few days ago. I remember seeing the look on his face he was down about it. I said why? He said he just fought for a belt about 2 weeks ago and lost by TKO. He wasn't actually KO'd but his skin has been vunerable to cuts in his career.
He was driving in his car and crashed. My dad said there's something about car crashes and youg great boxers dieing in them. He was only 28 at the time of his death.

Well to be fair and narrow it more.

He's def. an ATG vastly underrated and hardly talked about.
His best era was the 80's and he fought below Featherweight.
Alcohol & Marijuana got the best of him but even with that his record/career is top level for a small guy.

    Alright last hint.

I've often said that by the time Christian Mijares finishes his career he'll take his rightful place next to him as one of Mexicos ATG from that division.

    (That one should do it)

    That's him vs. Yoshiyuki Uchida.
Something great about Gilberto and lots of the smaller guys is they traveled to defend their titles, Argentina, Japan, Thailand, France etc. etc.
Gilberto fought often like 5 times a year and all around the world.
Facing #1 challengers and top contenders everywhere.

Roman was an exceptional fighter fully grown and nurtured by "Nacho" Beristain since Romans amateur days.
