Something great about Gilberto and lots of the smaller guys is they traveled to defend their titles, Argentina, Japan, Thailand, France etc. etc.
Gilberto fought often like 5 times a year and all around the world.

Missed a good thread here,great stuff Mick.Roman was a nice technical boxer from what Ive seen.Liked to party a bit but was as well rounded and talented as they came.Shame he left so early.

Roman huh, i remember my dad was a fan of his. talked highly of him and a few other great mexican fighters mentioned above. nice post there Mick

Roman was an exceptional fighter fully grown and nurtured by "Nacho" Beristain since Romans amateur days.
