Pavlik Vs Hopkins Poll

strange match up IMO. Hopkins will either get stopped badly or grit it out to a very close UD either way. I cant see how this fight benefits Pavlik in the slightest though. He should have fought a named fighter at 168 or maybe gone for AA ? Hopkins is difficult fight for anybody and not rewarding for Pavlik IMO, on the grounds JC has already beaten him and the fight is at lightheavyweight, kelly should keep well away from that weight class for the time being.

I think the reason is they are trying to smoke Joe C out for a scrap - if Pavlik knocks Hopkins out or has a convincing win then his team will compare that to Joe's close win over Hopkins and say what Pavlik would do to Calzaghe. If Joe doesn't come back after Jones then I think a unification fight with AA is next

very dangerous idea from pavlik if its too smoke joe out, i think hopkins by decision what with it being 2 weight divisions higher for pavlik.

Most fights with Hopkins in them will be scrappy and dull.

Hopkins will get stopped in this fight..trust me. I think Pavlik will pressure Hopkins while Hopkins tries to Counter punch and head butt, But in the end...Pavlik will stop the legend.

I think a fight between Pavlik and Calzaghe will happen if they both win although I would think Joe needs to put on a good display coupled with a convincing win against Jones for him to even consider Pavlik in 2009 as a last fight.

Pavlik will outwork Hopkins for a tough but clear decision. I'm impressed with the respect Hopkins is showing Pavlik.

I am leaning towards Hopkins .Have been juggling what Calzaghe brought on Hopkins as far as work rate in comparison to The pressure I think Kelly will put on him.Pavlik the much bigger hitter,straight in but Imo,no where near the experience/ring awareness and flexibility of Calzaghe.I really think He will walk into something and be taken deep in a rough house affair.

I think Pavlik by 8th round KO/TKO. It will be good fight till then, but Pavlik's youth and power will lead the way.
