I wanna take some time out to study Pressure fighters. I guess something like your Hatton's or your Margarito's etc. I really want to have a good look at some successful inside fighters fighters from past decades, 50's 40's and so on for some real old skool slugging.

I want to see what it was in there ability and there approach (not just there power) that made them as good they were.

Having said this.. Ive come across a constant irritant to my line of thought into studying the a successful pressure/ inside fighter... They never seem to beat the Elusive guy.

The Pernells, Floyds, Roys, Robinsons and Ali's of the game seem to walk away victorious from such Vintage style match-up's.

What i want to know is, are there any Pressure/ Inside fighters who met an Elusive fighters, were both were seemingly in prime condition and the Pressure/ Inside fighter won?

And if you cant answer that then just feel free to list your all-time favorite sluggers in the game

Like Tesco, every little helps
Hmmm, are you deciding if you can pick Paulie over Ricky? You're right, slicksters usually give fits to pressure guys. It helps if the slickster can also punch a little. Robinson could punch, Leonard could punch, against guys his size Floyd can punch.

If I were to look for a model of how Ricky-Paulie might go, I would look to Camacho - Haugen. Camacho developed a little power later in his career, but when he fought Haugen, he was almost as featherfisted as Paulie. Camacho was a better fighter than Paulie, and Hatton is better fighter than Haugen. The slickster needs at least some authority on his punches to keep the pressure fighter off.

Off hand -

Duran - Leonard 1 - both prime
Frazier - Jimmy Ellis - both prime in 1st fight
Frazier - Ali 1
Robinson - Basilio (though Robinson past prime. Robinson - Fulmer also, but Robinson was further past it.)
Pryor - Arguello (again Arguello a bit past it)
Haugen - Pazienza 2 - Prime
Haugen - Camacho - Prime
Chavez - Meldrick Taylor

That's all I can come up with for now.
