My saying is, "The law is there to protect you right up until something actually happens to you, then the law is there to protect the criminal and you don't have shit" Plus there are lawyers there assuring every single one of those laws is stuck to in the criminals favor.. As a citizen and victim, we get the shit end of the stick, and as a civilized country, we hand the shiny clean end over to criminals and most of the time pat them on the back with it...

That's perfectly legal and acceptable here in the uk, in fact a couple years ago our government cheerily lowered the age for female buggery to 16 to avoid discriminating against those girls and their pervy older partners who wanted to experiment in some anal penetration but who under our previous antiquated laws had to wait until she turned 21.

Sounds like the dad was a nutter to me, caught his daughter having sex with a man and killed him, I mean if his daughter is 17 she can do what she wants.
