Delray Raines V.S. Tarvis Simms

It is my opinion and that of many others. He wants to promote himself and his fighters in order to make himself as much money as possible, nothing else. He does not look out for their well being, as demonstrated by the mismatches he throws them into.

You're a gibbering idiot if you believe he's doing anything positive for "the sport of boxing" or that he does anything for any other reason than getting himself exposure and making money.

This whole SOB, Kid Thunder, Zelenoff bullshit is nothing but a viral marketing campaign, if you can't see that you're blind.

I'm just talking about this thread regarding Raines vs. Simms fight... If you have other issues (Kid Thunder, Zelenoff) with him that I have no comments...

But you can't make sweeping judgements about his character and intentions based on only this post. He clearly threw Raines into a fight in which he had almost no chance in order to make money and drum up publicity. His prior posting show that his only intention is to promote himself. He's already been banned from this board on 2 separate occasions.

That the kid did much better than expected (the fact that he lost every round on all the score cards and is still considered to have done way better than expected against a 37 yr old fighter with 11KOs coming off a 13 month layoff will tell you exactly how much of a mismatch this was) does not negate SOB's intentions.

However, he gets attention with this stuff, so it's clearly working for him.

Do you know him personally?

I just posted what I know about him from what I've read... That he's a promoter/manager, a former boxer and his wife is a former boxing world champ... That's all...

I also don't know this guy on personal level BTW...

Personally? As in face to face? What a ridiculous question. What does it matter if I know him personally? I wasn't aware I had to know an individual intimately in order to give my opinion on their actions.

I know about him because of #1 his incredibly suspect actions in regards to his dealing with his fighters and #2 because of his idiotic postings on here. It doesn't take much of a brain to figure out this is nothing but a marketing ploy.

As for his wife being a "former champion", while I have no doubt she could probably kick my ass, according to boxrec she has beaten a grand total of 2 fighers with winning records (7-3-1, 3-0. The 3-0 fighter's 3 previous wins were also against her). I don't say that as an indictment of her or her abilities, but lets keep things in perspective here.

You don't have to know him personally to comprehend what exactly is going on or understand the agenda.I have no indifference to the fighter and hope he keeps working at it...best of luck,but often promoters over shadow and make themselves the issue at hand with a condescending and "look at me" attitude.We are fans here,Not "Wanna-be's" burger king.Instead of discussing the fight facts and topic.....You make yourself the center of attention....then attention you shale recieve.Agenda's....everyone has them . I call people that attack me or my friends wanna be's ,
When they say bogus things like , I am trying to make money
off Zelenoff or Hartley , The only thing I do is show the
world the American Bill of rights is supposed to mean
something. And Andrew is a free man , Who could have
went and died for his country as many do everyday !
And no bureaucrat is going to be able honor the bill
of right and do what they are doing to my sport today!

I can almost respect you a bit for trying to make a buck, as I've said before. You're certainly not the first one to do it in this manner, but the words you cloak your intentions in are laughable.
