I'm sure you know more about his ability and potential than his promoters and trainers. You're a boxing genius. Berto has still yet to beat a single good quality true WW. He's been very carefully matched. He has the potential to be a special fighter, but if he can make 140, by all means he should do it. There is no way he's going to be the top man at WW in the next two years, but he might be able to be the top man at 140 in that time frame.

If Berto gets in with Clottey, Cotto, Margo, or even Cintron, the step up in class is too much to expect him to overcome. His best win was against a B-level blown up LWW. Forbes was a perfect step up for him to take on the top LWWs. At WW the two stepping stone fights for him would be Collazo or Quintana. If he drops down, he could fight Tim Bradley, then the Hatton/Paulie winner. I would give him a good chance in those fights, a better chance than I would give him over any of the top full sized WW's.
