He's had a ton of mental problems as well. I've heard it suggested on some of the sports shows that it may not have been all that accidental. Apparently he was belligerent when help arrived and was refusing treatment, resisting help etc. at the hospital.

Espn did a special on him a while ago and it was pretty inspiring and he talked about how the fear of that just paralyzed him and tramautized him. It was really good.

Canucks are 2-0 now. Came back from a 3-1 deficit to win 5-4 in overtime, again against Calgary. This is definitely a different team than last years Canucks, they come from behind to win, stick up for eachother, fight and actually win. Rick Rypien beat the shit out of Brust on the Flames, I'll see if I can find a youtube vid. of it. Luongo looked average and they still won.

To be fair, he probably wasn't thinking too clearly after taking that many shots to the head.
