Default Bute v. Miranda - What if?

    Does it make sense?

Here is why it may make sense:
    1. Bute needs name recognition to get the big fights.
    2. He'll need a tune-up after he fights Andrade (if he beats Andrade).
    3. It may be a good fight.

Miranda has a recognizable name. He has been on TV many times and he has fought Pavlik and Abraham. Recall that on Friday Night Fights he had a contender for knockout of the year when he put David Banks to sleep. Of course, that was before Abraham put him on the receiving end of another knockout of the year.

    Look at his options:

    1. Kessler
    2. Froch
    3. Taylor
    4. Mundine
    5. Green
    6. Bika

Kessler doesn't seem to have a desire to fight anyone worth mentioning. The winner of the Taylor v. Lacy fight will meet the winner of the Froch v. Pascal fight. Bute has already fought Bika who fights Manfredo in November. The only other available names I can come up with are Allen Green or Anthony Mundine. Allen Green has fallen off the map and Mundine suffers from the same disease as Kessler.

How is the match-up? Bute is taller by three inches (6'2 - 5'11), but loses seven inches in reach (77" - 70"). Although he has lost, Miranda has more experience versus elite compition. Miranda doesn't fight in the Sakio Bika, Librado Andrade mold. Thus, fans will be able to see how Bute reacts to a figher of a differe mold: a brawler with longer reach.

To be perfectly honest id put Andrade on around the same level as Miranda, Miranda Bika fight would be much more fun imo, if and when Bute beats Andrade i think everything should be done for a Kessler fight.

If there's nothing else its not a bad move. I think Bute would stop him late.

Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather see a Bute v. Kessler fight for all the coin. I just doubt Kessler will be fighting anyone significant anytime soon.

I think people are being a little harsh on Kessler to be honest, he will come back against big opposistion, he fought Calzaghe and Mundine in there own backyards, i dont really think a person who does that is a guy who is not up for a challenge. Lets see what he brings after this fight.

Not really sure Miranda is going to be able to compete on a high level any more. I don't see any result other than a Bute TKO Miranda is way to easy to hit and can't take a lot. Wouldn't put him as any more of a threat than Bika or even Berrio at super middle, Andrade would beat the piss out of Miranda as well imo.

Bute TKO's him in the mid rounds. I like both fighters, but Bute's boxing skills are miles above Miranda's and I'd wager he hits a lot harder than Abraham.

If Pavlik dominates Miranda Bute kills him in the ring!

The Monaco Mawler aka Mikkel Kessler, has a Ferrari and luxury pad to pay off still, so don't expect any risky fights from him for at least 18 months.

Personally i think Miranda is a popular, but ultimately limited fighter.

Bute, is something of an unknown himself by comparison, whom i'd expect to outpoint the Columbian.

I was just trying to make the point that the match could make sense. Bute should be favored, but it would be an interesting fight to watch. Miranda would force the fight and can bang.
