Feed mine Diamond Premium Maintenance. A good food and I have never had problem of any sort. It has a bit higher % of corn than I like, as corn is just a filler and can dry a coat out, but I've never run into that problem really and my dogs have excelled. Low stool volume as well which is nice. Also has a bit more by-product than I like but as I said I used mine for working/hunting dogs and they've always been very healthy. I've been feeding it for years and years. Stay away from Natural Choice dog food; runny stools and poor coats.

IAMS is good as is Science Diet.

I used to work in a pet store and Science Diet seemed to be heads and shoulders above the other commonly found brands.

Only if you feed them too much of it.

Well Science Diet is good but they use, or used to use, corn filler as well, for 1/2 the price of Science Diet I could get just as good a food with some by-product in there. When I had a whole bunch of dogs it made a big difference. I will be changing though soon as I only have about 20 and they are all getting older, so I will go to a lower protein, minus the by product so it is easier on them. But I had one of my dogs pass a few months ago at the age of 15 1/2 so he did alright. But a high protein count in the food when a dog gets older will sometimes bust their kidneys up; to the point of smelling piss out of their mouths, so something to keep in mind as a dog gets older. Just my experience sometimes.
