i heard that the owners dog was just like the owner
Well Science Diet is good but they use, or used to use, corn filler as well, for 1/2 the price of Science Diet I could get just as good a food with some by-product in there. When I had a whole bunch of dogs it made a big difference. I will be changing though soon as I only have about 20 and they are all getting older, so I will go to a lower protein, minus the by product so it is easier on them. But I had one of my dogs pass a few months ago at the age of 15 1/2 so he did alright. But a high protein count in the food when a dog gets older will sometimes bust their kidneys up; to the point of smelling piss out of their mouths, so something to keep in mind as a dog gets older. Just my experience sometimes.
Ok, we are only talking about Pitbull breeds right? Cause I am. My pits father was 90 plus pounds and he is on Nutro as well. Im trying to get mine as big that is why I have him on Nutro.
What breed and how big is your dog?
What food is good for building your dogs size? Thats the food I want, any suggestion?
Well genetics from breeding will determine what size he has; feeding a dog bred from some of my stuff and you'd never get a 90 pound dog and if you did he'd be a fat pos. So if you're working with bloodlines that carry alot of different scatter bred dogs they will tend to be larger over time. Alot of my dogs are no more than 55 pounds and that's all I need. It's like feeding a horse jockey as much as you can and thinking he'll get big; won't happen except in the gut area. Genetics man.
Here's a pic of my Napolean dog. Actually it is my girlfriends baby and she feeds him dogfood, ice cream, cookies, spaghetti, etc. etc. Fat pos can't even turn over if he falls on his back. He's very overweight but still only 70 pounds; and should be low 50's at best.
Here's my boy Tombstone 4 years ago; never over 58 pounds and as well put together as a bulldog can be. He is right now 10 years old and 50-52.

yea i know, thats why i ask what breed you guys have. Thats why I mention my dogs father. I know pitbulls come in all sizes now, I use to always want the smallest kind. the staffordshire bull terrier, my first dog was half that and half original mid size APBT. The one I have now, is the large size pits. Thats why I want to know about the food best for large breed dogs. Nutro is the only one I know about that i have been feeding him but lately i heard its not a good idea, Im not sure why. Anybody out there does?
Heres a pic of my pup.
