I thought the pussy dolls were rubbish.....need a better class of performance than them

The ring entrance was good but a little over the top and sad to see Tyson look so fat

Samuel Peters performance was a total let down but fair play to Vitali

*Also the audience was a little quiet and caused the atmosphere to be a little low...maybe the arena was too big to appreciate the crowd

I just enjoyed the fact that Vit clinched twice in the entire fight.
    Take notes, Wlad.

Well keep in mind the fight did happen in Vitali's adoptive home of Germany. I'm sure you'd see a similar amount of bias if Hatton/Malignaggi were to happen in England.

But yeah, I felt bad for Sam because he really had the cards stacked against him. But goddamn, those 5 legends really bet on the right horse hahaha

I thought that Vitali should have been more aggresive and tried to KO Peter. It seemed to me that V. wanted to stave Sam Peter off more than fight him.

Maybe that is too much to ask after the layoff.

Exactly. Vitali was the home fighter. Watch an Arthur Abraham-card and you'll see something completely similar, although this was obviously taken to the next level.

Yeah I'm aware it was his adopted homeland but all the great champs urging him to victory were American (who knows what the hell nationality Lennox is)

But imagine if Hatton's next big fight at home that Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Wilfred Benitez, Kosta Tyszu and Julio Ceasar Chavez all gave him personal messages of support and urged him to get the win, it would be freaking weird to me

I hate both Klitschkos with a passion rivaling my hatred for Larry the Cable Guy, but I must admit thats ONE thing I have to give Vitali props for.

He barely clinched at all. He fought Peter like a man.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

Yea, I agree it was definately a pro Vitali build up. Atleast they picked the right horse. Would have been a bit embarrassing for them if he came out to all that and got schooled.

It was a shameful build up actually. It was like some huge Goebbels inspired parade. Fighters should walk to the ring with some music and a few explosions if they are that way inclined. But when you have the announcer saying such biased things as that, and have former champs who have obviously just said what they said for a bit of pocket money being projected like star wars style holograms....well it seems incredibly biased and beyond how things should be. Peter went out there to fight Vitali and that should have been enough without all that extra nonsense on top.

I was watching that at at 6am in the Morning thinking what a pile of shit. And I still think the same. It was crap, as was the fight. I went to bed again straight after. I needed sleep.

First of all, ring entrances in Germany are often quite spectacular (at least for the home fighter), and anyone surprised by this have not been paying too much attention to fights there before.

Miles, you're a great poster, but not only is this bs, it's majorly disrespectful and borderline racist (well not racist, as Germans are the same race, but you get my drift). They were hyping the home fighter. They were selling him as good as they could. Nothing less, nothing more.

You'd see the same with Hatton or Haye in England, but you would never dream of invoking the ghost of Goebbels then, would you?

I think you are quite right for calling me out on that statement. With hindsight I see that it was insensitive.

I was just trying to say that I thought the slant they were trying to put was itself somewhat ridiculous and too much for my liking. Of course, it didnt quite come out that way when I hastily posted earlier. I would be critical of that kind of bombast regarding any fighter, and British fighters would not escape my scorn either.

I summonsed up Goebbels as a name associated with spectacle and making things look grand from a designated angle, it was not intended as a xenophobic attack upon race nor nation.
