Is that because of Pac's potential performance, or Oscars? And in the other case, was that because of Hatton's Potential performance or Floyds?
I really gave Hatton an (unintelligent) shot, but if there was anything to lean me towards Floyd, it was that he as the potential to be unstoppable on any given night..
Who knows how Oscar is going to be on the day.. That is the real wildcard. We know what Pac is going to bring to the table, and that is the main thing that makes this fight legit.. Plus Oscar could be anywhere on the scale which add's a small part of legitimacy to this matchup.. I think though, that is a part of why fight fans are unhappy with this fight... Oscar on his A+ game that he has been capable of in the past would beat Pac 10 times out of 10 and I don't think anyone has argument against that... The fact we have to see Oscar competing no where near his former greatness to have this fight be a cracker, means there isn't many ways you can look at it without considering it a B grade matchup..
If you look at it as entertainment though I will enjoy watching these 2 guys face to face in the ring.. But I don't put it up there with a lot of the other less lustrous matchups out there that are all about 2 guys fighting for everything there is to be fought for in boxing... There is so much less substance to this Pac Oscar fight than it takes to get me excited... It could still be enjoyable though.

All of the above, I guess. I gave Hatton no more than a 5-10% chance of beating Floyd. I give Pacquiao a better chance than that against Oscar.
I think this is very fair and an accurate statement. Don't disagree at all. However, there is a big difference between calling it a B-grade matchup as opposed to referring to it as a circus fight that is disrespectful to all intelligent boxing fans. It's people who are saying the latter that I don't agree with. The fact we have to see Oscar competing no where near his former greatness to have this fight be a cracker, means there isn't many ways you can look at it without considering it a B grade matchup.

Good Points.. I don't at all think the fight is going to be an embarrassment or anything.. Pac is a world class boxer and when he's in the ring will give 110 % and will make this fight good.. And Oscar has to compete with a guy who has every intention of taking it up to him, and taking the glory away from him if he has any say in it at all.... There are matchups that seem completely fair that end in under 2 rounds with a KO... Pac will give us our money's worth for sure in any respect..
Well i guess we just disagree about what is a "B-grade matchup" and what is a joke of a fight. By joke...do i mean Pac will look like an amatuer against Oscar...no. But the weight and size difference, along with he FACT that both these fighters have much more relevant and exciting fights to deal with (fights in which they will get plent of money and exposure for)...does make this fight a joke and circus for me.
