The death penalty! for it or against it???

Every couple of years someone here in Michigan tries to get it on the ballot or a smaller version just for police officers.

I agree with the idea of "an eye for an eye" but the justice system being what it is has put in endless repeals and it's a very slow process and honestly it loses it's effectiveness as a deturrant when people #1 Don't see it and #2 Get put to sleep...dogs and cats that are loved and cherished by people get "put to sleep" killers ought to be KILLED (well in a manner worse than lethal injection).


It's hard to be fair with the death penalty, people were whining and complaining when Karla Faye Tucker got put to death in Texas....she hit a girl repeatedly with a pick axe which was left sticking out of her boyfriend's (who was killed with a hammer) chest.


Here are the ways people should be put to death: Hanging (as a bonus the same rope can be used numberous times), Firing Squad, Electrocution, and Gas Chamber.

As for the innocent people you're never going to be 100% right but to what extent do you let that run society? Are we going to stop locking people up altogether because innocent people get locked up wrongfully? And don't think I don't know about the sorrows of the guys like Ruben Carter and (North Carolina's most famous innocent man held in jail for a long time) Darryl Hunt....those are sad stories but they happen death penalty or no death penalty

Depends on the crime commited and who it is against.

If a man/woman walks into their own home and finds the other half in beb with some one else and kills both of them. (depends)

If a person is caught beating, molesting and killing a child. (No question, fry that sucker)

Yes, they need to institute a cull of the criminal class. I'd slash crime in Britain through a simple three-step criminal justice programme that I call "Arrest, Try, Execute." I'd execute even teenagers for belonging to gangs. That'd nip the gang problem in the bud. Same for people who can't keep out of prison, repeat criminals etc. Just execute all of them. I know they have deprived backgrounds and deficient learning skills and what have you but that's just their tough luck.

I would legalise all drugs though. You could legalise everything and it would cause far less social problems and cost than the current system of prohibition does. And that way I wouldn't get executed. By my own policy.

I am adamandtly against the death penalty, just as I am adamantly against abortion, human life is not ours to take in my opinion.

I don't think the death penalty has any place in a modern 21st century nation.

Of course I'd love to see the Ian Huntley's of this world hung, drawn and quartered for his child killings but let's be honest here, child killers amount to about 0.1% of all criminals.

If the death penalty was brought in many people whose crimes wern't on that magnitude would likely die too, along with the innocent.

I also cannot see how murdering a murderer makes anything right. If the taking of a human life is wrong (and it is) then a system of vengeful retaliation cannot be right surely?

Also what constitutes murder? To me someone who chooses to have their unborn but still living child scraped out of their uterus and thrown into a bin because they don't want the hassle of looking after it is as guilty of murder as anyone who kills somebody who is actually born.

Why should they be allowed to live in Prision, 3 meals a day, TV, Laundry....And get to sit in the enviorment they thrive on while the tax money of their victims pay for it?.......

I am a fairly religious man and understand what the bible states about to err is human to forgive is devine...Murder is not excusable for any reason etc...But you know what...

I am not God or Jesus...These men will stand in front of him and be judged...I will take my chances when that time comes as well..

In the meantime I know I can sleep better at night knowing that is one less person in the world I have to fear harming my family when I am not there, or anyone elses


Maybe if we had these punishments in place and implemented them more often thoise scumbags would be a bit more leery of commiting the crimes in the first place..,...

Jindal is taking huge steps against child molesters.I think he has expanded the housing restrictions for convict's in regards to School district zones.Seems like every week we receive flyer's in the mail,telling you full name,birth date,photo's,address,etc.etc. of convicted child abusers.The "vigilante" aspects can be huge.But Physical castration.....might as well offer them elective bullet treatment ?
