Your the idiot, Hopkins was coutnering effectively, he hurt Taylor more near the end then Kelly ever did in their second fight. Taylor wasn't able to use the jab, Bernard put on a defensive show along with showcasing the right hand. Pavlik got hit a lot, he landed alot, but I liked what Hopkins did more. All in all they both won close fights IMO against Taylor, but Cory Spinks and Winky Wright beat Taylor emphatically IMO.

Your the fucking dumbass, Hopkins had amazing defense the other round which didn't allow Taylor to get anything off. Pavlik fought all 12 rounds, but that doesn't mean he won all 12 rounds, Taylor IMO looked a lot better against Pavlik then he did against Hopkins, who made him look like an amateur, in the Pavlik-TAylor fight they looked like equals. EIther way I don't think Hopkins lookd a lot better then Pavlik, but I do think Winky did a much better job comming forwad against Taylor then Pavlik did, he nullified Taylor's jab, he blocked most of what Taylor threw his way, he landed better combinations, he landed his jab more effectively. Spinks stayed a way, landed more punches in almost every round, and made Taylor miss.

pavlik would beat chad with easy as it stands today and for all the reasons already mentioned. pavlik will win vs b-hop, anyone trying to give the impression it will be close, is lying. if b-hop were 5 years younger it would be a close affair, but he's not and it won't.

When reasons were mentioned? Also how is Hopkins vs Pavlik not a close fight, Hopkins just came off an extremely close fight with Calzaghe that i felt he won, but either way was a close fight. I could see Pavlik winning, but to say Hopkins doesn't have an even or almost even chance is denying obvious facts that.
1) Hopkins makes everybody look bad
2) Hopkins has stunned Calzaghe and Tarver who both ahve better chins then Pavlik in their fights.
3) He has made a couple of the most skilled pressure boxers in boxing look bad in Winky and Calzaghe.
4) Hopkins style is a bad matchup for Pavlik
5) ITS BERNARD HOPKINS.

I know people wont agree but pavlik hasn't fought top quality boxer with good boxing skill yet. He's a proper set boxer and he'll fight brawlers like miranda, taylor and hopkins. even though hopkins has skills he's old as hell. If he fights Dawson he'll be KO'd Dawson quicker faster and his style is made for boxing a Pavlik. Pavlik won't keep up with his foot speed and even though he's acurate he's only fight sluggers for right now Dawson counter shot would put Pavlik to bed.

That is why I think Pavlik should remain at middleweight for as long as possible and establish himself as one of the better middleweights of all-time. By moving up in weight he loses his advantages his height, reach, and toughness. Other than Abraham, I don't see a middleweight out there that could hang with him.

i dont think kelly can establish himself as a ATG middleweight because the only 2 fights for kelly at 160 is abraham and sturm. so for kelly to be an ATG at the moment he would have to go up in weight to make a great name for himself.

Don't forget Paul Williams. Also, Bernard didn't fight greats in every fight as middleweight champ. Pavlik could sit on top of the thrown once he beats Abraham and Sturm.

Eddie Mustafa seems to be the perfect trainer for Chad.

Combine that with the experience of fighting Glen Johnson and the confidence of dominating Tarver. And what you get is a superbly talented fighter that is actually getting better. He could reign for a long time.

I agree with the post stating that he wouldn't have as tough a time beating Glen Johnson in a rematch.

Amat being a mod I can actually imagine, he's the type Saddo would go for I think. I'd hate that, I just know that for fun he would end up banning me from my own threads. He fights Haussler because Haussler was bypassed when Kessler fought Sartison for the WBA belt. Kessler was no1, Haussler no.2 and Sartison no.3. When the Sartison fight was arranged WBA dictated that a defense against Haussler was mandated within 90 days.

Kessler wanted a championship belt. Now he has to make this silly defense
