Calzaghe calling another fighter overrated?! Now that's funny...coming from one of the MOST overrated fighters in history. If he only was fighting a prime Roy Jones...he would be exposed for the over hyped fighter he is.
According to Frank warren he has pulled out of about 10 fights he lined up for him warren wouldn't say it if it weren't true being they are in a legal battle he wouldn't want Calzaghe doing him over lies.
Everyone that looses when favored is not overrated, very very few thought the fight would go the way it did. Joe himself was probably on of the most relived people on the planet saturday night, b-hop took the chance he wasn't willing to. He should be careful what he says....he himself is less than a month away from possibly having all this discussion being how overrated he is.....he's talking like beating roy is already in the bag, i can only imagine this place if he looses.

Saying Calzaghe DUCKED Johnson is just silly.
He pulled out injured. Which turned out to be the BEST thing that EVER happened to Johnson. He wouldn't have made his name by sparking out Roy.. and subsequently beating Tarver.
They were being lined up to meet AGAIN around 2006.. But Clinton Woods beat Johnson scuppering it.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
I'm a big Carl Froch fan but the truth is as of yet he has done nothing to warrent a fight with Calzaghe.
After beating Jeff Lacy Joe quite rightly wanted to make a big name for himself in America and get the mega fights over there.
To that end he took a fight with Peter Manfredo, the most popular fighter on the Contender and well known both in the US and the UK. It may have been a mismatch but as a way of getting the attention of casual American fans it obviously made smart business sense.
He then had a stay busy fight with Sakio Bika, who was coming off an aborted title shot against Marcus Beyer before challening the undefeated and double champion Mikkel Kessler in a massive and highly risky unification fight.
Finally after winning that he was a big enough name to get his mega fights and has now fought B Hop and Roy Jones Jr in successive fights.
Please tell me, all those who think he's ducking Froch, when would it have made sense to fight him?
Froch has never been on the radar for Joe Calzaghe and fo good reason.
He's completely unproven, completely unknown, has never even been in a big fight let alone won one, he offers nothing in terms of money, world titles, stateside appeal or resume so in short why the fuck would Joe have ever fought him?
I actually like Calzaghe,Topped Hopkins legit.....but here he sounds like an attention deprived toddler wearing a soggy diaper,Get em a set of plastic keys already !!!Kelly and such apparently under his skin....way to smack a guy when he's on the mat Joe.That being said...I think he will beat Jones jr.
edit,Not overrated. Two solid wins over Taylor. He was hyped up obnoxiously though.

Only name I can think of is Glen Johnson.
In terms of who Calzaghe's ducked it was people at Light Heavyweight only I'm guessing since there were no real super middleweight threats(at least in their prime) when Calzaghe was down there ruling.
The biggest names on his list are Lacy(who by now doesn't seem like a big win but hindsight is always 20-20) a debated victory against Hopkins and against a faded Chris Eubank.
Now people take credit away from Leonard for his questionable win against Hagler. But when it comes to Calzaghe people seem to give him a little more rope and I think a lot of hate stems from the double standards boxing fans like to use. But hey its boxing and its fans no one is ever consistant 100 percent with fighters they like and dislike, its just human nature.
I don't think Pavlik is overrated. What people say about him is true. He is a 1-2 puncher, he has good comeback ability, he doesn't quit, and he has power in his shots.
Overhyped, maybe, but Pavlik is a champion and is still young so his career is far from over.
Hopkins fought a perfect fight and had the perfect game plan and experience to have the performace against Pavlik he had.
Kelly is still young and definitely will learn from this experience. Hopkins, Pacquiao, De La Hoya, Mosley, etc all have losses in their record but are still great fighters. Pavlik still has time...
