He's a trainer? great cheers guys, i hoped he stay in the sport but he was a bit of a preacher man wasn't he, praying in the ring before disposing of his foe. That Herol Graham knockout will live with me forever.

Blind that's right, he wore big jam jar glasses out of the ring didn't he, failed the eye test that's why he had to fight Graham in Spain. Great fighter though.

Actually he had two sons there. Julius Jackson and John Jackson. Dont think either of them made a big fuzz there though. Julius lost to Kenneth Egan, I think.

    You just contradicted yourself.

In order to get to the Olympics you need to be special, the mere fact that he was in the Olympics puts him in the upper echelons of amateur boxing.
Thats crap Donny and you know it, and how have i contradicted myself ? have you seen some of the fighters that get into Olympics ? did you see that fat Turkish guy i think it was in the Heavyweight division ? he looked like some guy pulled out of the crowd he had no boxing skill what so ever.

So i suppose just because he was in the Olympics he was special ? or Audley Harrison is special because he won an Olympic Gold ? not at all. Jackson's kid was a slow plodding fighter, that never went to the body had no real boxing skills. And was totally outboxed by the Korean boxer, nothing at all about him was special.

Just because my dream is to go to the Olympics, doesn't mean even if i make it im special. Nor am i saying that anyone who does make it to the Olympics isn't special, but the Olympics this year IMO was pretty poor i never see one boxer who really stood out.
The Olympics comprises of the best amateurs.

In order to gain qualification you must perform in one of several high quality tournaments. Bad amateurs do not make the olympics.

The fact that the majority of the world am champs were beaten in provisional stages should demonstrate the quality within the olympic tournament.
Because a boxer looks poor does not mena he is bad, it means the other was better.

You haven't got 5 fights, so you're hardly qualified to judge.

What do you mean im not qualified to judge ? and what does it matter how many fights i've had ? all you have to do is open your eyes, and watch how they fight to see if there any good isn't that obvious ?

Secondly so your saying every single boxer in the Olympic's, are special fighters with *above average* talent ? Donny did you see some of the bums they had in the Heavyweight division ? they had fighters who looked like they were tough man contest fighters not boxers.

And did you watch some of the Korean and European fighters ? they were rubbish. End of not because the other fighter was better, its because they wern't good fighters. I seriously disagree with you on this, im not saying the Olympics isn't special tournament. Hell thats my dream to go to the Olympics.

But sometimes i wonder to myself how do atleast 20 percent of these boxers, even make it to the Olympics ?

I mean your not qualified to judge.

Every fighter there is better than you or I, they made it there, neither of us did. Those Korean and European fighters you denigrated are of a higher quality than you or I.

If the heavyweights seemed poor it was as result of weakness in the sport as those men too fought their way and qualified for the Olympics.

For every man that participated, there is 1,000 that wishes they could, but they didn't make the grade.
