I really don't think that in the good three years that I'm a member of this site anything changed(much)...there will always be "fanboyism" and there will always be members coming and going...some are idiots and some are pretty cool...

Bilbo! Nice post. I enjoy listening to rants. Fanboyism can get annoying but it is what it is.

I learn to take it with the territory. Every celeb or athlete has die-hard fans. If someone didn't disagree with me, there would be harmony and a forum is no place for harmony. It's supposed to be about people with different views and opinions and if people can open their minds and accept another's opinion, that great, but it usually doesn't happen.

After the Pacquiao vs Marquez rematch this forum went crazy!! I was utterly disgusted by the "Pac dominated Marquez" or "Marquez schooled Pac" comments that I wanted to throw up, when in fact, the fight was one of the best fights of this year. I ended up writing a rant about it and I was given good advice about how this forum can get "big fight syndrome."

So now-a-days I give it a couple of days after a big fight before I come back on. Considering the dominating performance Hopkins gave this weekend, I waited until Monday before I posted anything.

I hate your whiny ass threads you have been starting......dating back like SINCE YOU BECAME A MEMBER. What a fag.

What is worse......you want to be a mod and then you have this big ass wimpy thread in the boxing talk board.

    In conclusion:

    a. You whine too often.
    b. You whine in inapporiate places.
    c. Your whining is unoriginal and stagnant.

Excuses for fighters and opions are like assholes, everyone has one and uses them all the time.

Bilbo, if you find the people in the hidden boards more to your liking, then why come on to the main board at all? Rep points is why. You can take on a new poster and get reps for doing it.

The current happenings on the main boards are nothing new. They all learn after awhile if they stick around.

To me, the main boards are where all the chest thumping, back slapping, outlandish statements are made. the Hidden forums are where the real people hang out and really get to know each other better.

It doesn't bother me too much. I find people annoying for all sorts of reasons. If I know a poster makes threads, and they typically are all the same, as in grovelling over one particular boxer...I just don't open them any more.

Recently I became a fan of a fighter, as in, decided he was my guy and I was gonna jump on the bandwagon so to speak, as I liked what he was about. My first time doing so. That was just recently, and it was Kelly Pavlik. ha Look how that turned out...

But anyway, I still like him, because it wasn't just about boxing for me...I like his personality as well and won't throw him under the bus because of his first loss. I hope he will learn and improve.

Also though, I won't open threads from people, even Pavlik fans, if they are a one trick pony. It's really that simple, IMO.

The last Bastion of huggery died when Pavlik lost.

Irrtational and un substantiated hate is on the rise!

I understand your point, but if it was'nt for the debates on these fight threads then this world and site would just be too "HAPPY"..."I LOVE YOU BECAUSE YOU LOVE ME!"

I didn't read it all but I wouldn't think Bilbo would be qualified to make a judgement on the boxing board. People are fans, Winky is my favorite fighter. I can debate with Northside on woho won Winky's fight with Taylor and I'm sure it would be charged with fanboyism from both but doesn't mean it can't be a good thread. In summation, shut up Bilbo.

I hate when posters try to shove a fighter down your throat and wan't to make you like them or agree about their greatness.
