if that's a response to my point, they (sports' journalists, journalists in general) make a living playing "arm chair quarterback", whether it be about boxing or politics. More often then not, they critique instead of praise (to the point of not being balanced; they seek negative stories), and shape perception based on their supposed "expert" analysis, which is nothing more than conjecture and guessing. What's missing is earned credentials; experience from "doing" and not from something that equates to being an articulate pedestrian. They are human, they do make mistakes; the difference is, when a boxer or a politician makes a mistake, they make their living off it; so it's only natural that they should get the same unrealistic bashing when they're wrong. This stems from the absurd "authority" they imply when they're dissecting/preaching about someone else's error. I personally don't take them to task when they make a bad prediction-- I similarly often times make these same bad guesses. My point is, when these guys stop being reporters and start being "experts" or commentators and make ridiculous and wrong assertions (ex. the aforementioned article) we, as the boxing public, the concerned, the paying fan, need to bust their ass and tear down this invisible authority they have. We need to make them as vulnerable to the things they write as their subjects are.
