Default Will Taylor really have it that easy against Lacy?

Just wondering about this cause I'm going by some comments in the other thread about Taylor partying too much and how it won't matter cause he's just fighting Lacy.

I mean when was the last time Jermain Taylor had an easy time with anybody? Ouma I guess but considering Lacy's a pressure fighter its easy to remember that Ouma who's tiny had Taylor backing up all night and gassed late.

I mean I saw Jeff last time out like most everybody and yes he looked shitty but if there was a positive too it when he had to man up and out tough Mendoza in the last couple rounds to win the fight he did, he's not broken mentally IMO.

I do favor Taylor, if he can box like he did the second fight against Pavlik he'll probably win. Although you have to wonder exactly how well he actually did box since he clearly lost that fight and look at what happened last week. I just find it hard to pick Taylor to dominate this since Taylor doesn't dominate anybody and he's looked a bit rough against pressure fighters.

Kind of rambled, not sure if I really said what I wanted to say there. Basically Taylor backs up too easily, is a bit crap defensively at times and doesn't hit all that hard. And I don't think Lacy is shot mentally or physically, he's just what he always has been, a bit limited with overrated power.

Still think this could be a surprisingly entertaining fight.

Should be a interesting fight, I think Taylor should pull out the W though.

I think Lacy's best chance is to try and bum rush Taylor and overpower him early.

Otherwise I see him getting outboxed and TKO'd late.

Exactly. Taylor is coming off 2 big losses (and a bad performace against Spinks before that) and is fighting in a new weight class. I think he'll win, but he needs to be on top of his game.

Hopefully this'll be a good fight and I see Taylor having a bit too much for LAcy and winning by a UD

Taylor should have a walk in the park if he doesn't get too careless. One shot could end it, but then after seeing how manfredo weathered the storm, i don't think lacey can ko taylor. Manfredo was getting knocked almost off his feet when lacey hit him, but he wasn't knocked out.

Yeah it should be a pretty good fight.
I think Taylor will have it easy though. IMO backing up isnt neccessarily a bad idea against Lacy.

Manfredo showed that he had the ability to out box Lacy until he opted to fall in a little more.

Yeah i really think this is Taylors fight to loose if anything.

I dont think it will be easy for Taylor at all. He should win, but I wouldnt count out someone as plucky as Lacy. I dont think Taylor can stop Lacy, and Lacy is going to keep on ploughing forwards. It could get tricky for Taylor if Lacy still has enough in him going down the stretch, because I think Lacy could finish the stronger.

Whoever loses is probably cooked after this, so its an intriguing match up really.

This is taylors first fight at 168 I think and although Lacy isnt that good, Taylor wont have it that easy. Lacy knows if he loses this fight he is actually over for good and he wont be making it easy for Taylor. I believe Lacy is going to have to apply constant pressure on taylor and not give him a chance to get into his rhythem. If Taylor is free to box I believe he will win a very wide UD or a TKO in the later rounds. If Lacy can cut off the space and catch Taylor with some good shots I actually can see Lacy maybe stopping Taylor. It depends what state of mind Lacy is in, if hes like in recent performances I dont hold much hope for him. If hes really up for it I believe we could see an upset here, Lacy has great power and that cant be ignored. Lets just wait and see what happens!

I think Lacy will get stopped.

His chin seems to have lost its resistance since the Calzaghe whooping.

If he struggles to win fights against the likes of Manfredo and Mendoza then he has no chance against Taylor.
