Default Ricky Hatton is going to beat Paulio Malignaggi

I have full faith that Ricky is going to beat beat PM. Although PM is a good fighter I just feel Ricky is going to have this desire he had like he did before that Mayweather fight. His support that turned out for his last two fights is outstanding, he has so much riding on him and I feel hes going to pull out an outstanding performance against PM.

Im not underestimating PM, but I just feel that he cant take the full out pressure of Ricky and its going to cost him rounds. I see the fight going the distance or a late stoppage for Hatton. But hes going to show us an all round performance which is really going to push his name forward again.

I believe the Mayweather fight was too much of a step up for Hatton. But if he fights MP or JMM I believe Hatton would beat them. Hatton needs those fights if he beats PM, forget ODLH, hes a lot bigger built than Ricky.

I just hope JMM or MP calls out Hatton if he beats PM.

But COME ON RICKY, DO US PROAD AGAIN SON!

Really looking forward to this one, Rickys already out there well before the fight date, running up mountain roads in boots old skool style, on wieght and with one of the best trainers in the world tuning his game plan. I expect PM to give Ricky a tough battle early on, with Hatton pulling away over the middle rounds to the end, no stoppage as PM is tough as nails. My only worry is Ricky trying to force the fight to much and not listening to Mr Snrs instructions and getting picked off on the way in. Respect to both fighters this might be more entertaining than we think.

As long as floyd snr is working on what hatton is good at and not trying to teach an old dog new tricks i also see nothing but a dominant hatton performance that results in a mid round stoppage.

Paulie hasnt earned the respect from the british media he is due as he is an established champ now that more than earnt his stripes against cotto.

But hatton SHOULD be way to physical for him and paulies only hope is to draw hatton in and beat him to the punch which i just do not see happening.

I can't see what paulie can do in this fight. If things start going bad for Hatton he just needs to rush paulie grab on and punch...break,repeat.

UD12...Paulie is a tough guy can't see the KO.

Hatton cant take a backwards step up he will feel the wrath of PM. If Hatton is on him for the full 12 there can be no way PM can win this fight. Hattons just too good for him at this stage of their careers.

Hatton will too physical for Paulie although there is always the chance Paulie uses his feet to take away Hatton's physicality. Cotto couldn't stop Paulie and is a better boxer and harder puncher than Hatton. Hatton didn't look convincing in his last outing. Thus, Hatton on the cards in a relatively close win.

How didnt Hatton look convincing? It was an outstanding performance IMO, the only thing i had to falter about Hatton was that he took a few many and got a bit wobbled in round 10, but apart from that he was clearly dominant in the fight and he looked very sharp. At 140, I would say Ricky is stronger than Miguel Cotto, but at 147 Cotto is stronger. I believe this fight will be tougher for PM than the Cotto one IMO.

I'm really looking forward to the fight now its getting closer.

Hatton will definitely start favourite but Paulie could give him problems.

However, even though Hattons looks to have slipped slightly recently Malignaggi's last couple of performances have been pretty poor.

The formbook shows them both looking a little shaky right now.

Should be a good fight though, and some great lightweights out there for the winner.

If hatton doesnt stop malinaggi i`ll completely lose faith in the man and even i`ll call for him to call it a day.

Dont get me wrong paulie is an excellent boxer, but he cant fight and is a match made opponent for ricky to work over.

Of course theres always the chance with someone running around the ring for 12rounds that he could at some point catch hatton on the counter and wobble him a bit. But thats the most i expect from paulie and hatton should have this rubber stamped as a stoppage win!!

Fair enough. And if I recall correctly, Paulie fought Cotto at 140. Personally, I didn't think Hatton looked great, but we can agree to disagree. I acknowledge he dominated the fight, but against Juan Lazcano.

Outside of Mayweather, Paulie may be the fastest fighter Hatton's fought. The problem is Paulie has NO power. Completely feather fisted. All Ricky has to do is get on the inside and he'll bruise Hatton up. One thing that is certain is that Paulie ain't knockin' Hatton out.

In terms of effort and work rate I believe that was one of Hattons best performances since Tszyu, but thats my opinion. PM has looked really poor in his last two outings, but maybe he needs a name like Hatton to motivate him for him to fight the best he can possibly fight. But I cant see Hatton losing to PM, I just cant see it at all.

Well if he doesn't he might aswell retire right now, Paul Malignaggi only looked impressive taking a beating against Miguel Cotto. Ricky Hatton's punch resistance looked shaky against a natural Lightweight Juan Lazcano, and his defense at times was just ridiculous.

And i disagree with you Tam i don't think Hatton look that sharp. He wasn't jabbing his way in like he had in the past, and he wasn't giving his opponents angles. Which was one of his strong points. And at times he was lunging in with no defense and walking forward in straight lines.

Hatton should win a 12 round UD but i think Paulie, might be alot sharper in this fight considering the event and the opposition. And i think he will give Hatton 12 awkward rounds but i can't see him winning.
