I've seen it IRL. Grandparents St. Bernards had a taste for the porcupines. Just couldn't get enough of them. They both ended up dying because of it. Not so much the quills, but from the multiple anesthetics it took to remove them. They apparantly are quite susceptable to reactions from anethetic. It suxs seeing an animal in that much pain.

LOL. that dog is in pure agony. I saw a dog chase a racoon one time and got his ass tore up, he ended up getting rabies and they put him to sleep

Not only do they not learn...but after they get a face full of quills and go through all the pain and agony of getting them out, very next time they see a porcupine, they are all over it again...thinking it is lunch. Poor stupid dogs.

Yep they are mighty loyal but stupid animals. Mine seems to have a facination with wheels, buses and cars. He's been hit once, lucky it's not more as he used to like hearding up cars if he managed to get out of the backyard. He's settled down now though, simply due to the arthritis caused by being hit by the bus the first time
