Wouldn't the head usually be knocked back slightly rather than coming forward?

So the right cross wouldn't have your opponent's head in the way of reaching the same point as the jab at all but actually probably be able to move further forward?

Or do you mean the head in the way is your own replacing the point where your opponent was before they went back after a really good job or just in retreat?

Your driving with your hips to a point,you dont actually expect to get to that point, but its a way to visualize what your trying to do. Thats where alot of trainers go wrong,your teaching a visualization process. Not a legitimate expectation.
You need to visualize being able to follow through your punch for it to really be able to do the damage its supposed to.
