Exactly, Roy could do nothing more at his age. The fight was what it was, two aging greats where one had aged more than the other - and it NEVER was going to be anything else.
All last night showed is that we missed out on a possible brilliant match up which could have happened 2000-2003. Bilbo is spot on when he says that Joe would never give up and in that sense he genuinelly is a throwback, he wouldn't stand centr ring like a rabbit caught in headlights like Woods and all the other LHW defences. Roy would still be favourite but it would have been a hell of an entertaining fight against someone willing to put it all on the line.
The first round last night DID NOT prove that Roy would have schooled Joe in their primes (as some mentioned), and the subsequent 11 rounds DID NOT prove that Joe would have beaten Roy in their primes.
PS MarkusDarkus - stop being a TIT , last nights win is nothing to gloat about as it was to be expected, it didn't enhance Joe's career, it was only a payday. And in that regards ICE is right, it was a glorified sparring session, but in all honesty I don't think you could argue that it was ever advertised as anything different.
