How did Joe win the 12th? Roy outlanded him with clean blows in that round, except maybe those pitter patter punches Joe scored to the body, but all in all. Who with a high workrate and a good chin wouldn't beat this Jones? Joe Calzaghe didn't do a better job than Glen Johnson did agaisnt Roy, he didn't hit Roy with as many clean punches as Tarver did in their first fight, though Roy fought back and won most of the rounds against Tarver, the fact is I've seen lesser fighters then Calzaghe beat Roy more emphatically of late.

I had RJJ win the 12th, and a 10-8 round for the first. Think I had a drawn round in there somewhere as well. That would make it 117-111 I had it. The judges got it about right IMO.

I will never call it a dominant win. He won on volume of punches not quality! Most of his punches had nothing on them and they were hitting gloves most of the night. Im gonna say this now and im ready to get smashed but i do believe this. You wanna get an idea on how Joe goes against prime roy....bring on anthony mundine! Mundine has the speed, the right hand and a very nice uppercut. I do remember what happened to the last two guys bent down and put their head down like calzaghe does when fighting mundine, they got smashed with uppercuts all night Trust me everything Jones couldnt do last night, Mundine would of. Mundine would of flurried off the ropes and wouldnt of been in active. Hate on this comment all you want but it is true, face it. The way joe looked last night, was not impressive and mundine would of given him hell last night

With all do respect but I would have to say a dominant win for Joe. He cut him up,kept Jones on the ropes with nothing coming back at him and simply just toyed with him all night long. Looking back at it the only thing he didn't do to Roy in the ring was knock him out and then rape him. I will say this as clearly as possible. Jones looked old he is done as a fighter and shouldn't be allowed to challenge for a belt again. Sorry Roy but last night was horrible you had so many opportunities to put a man away right in front of you with his hands down and tongue sticking out.Especially in the first round when Joe was clearly hurt and on queer street.Tremendous victory for Joe and to me taking that number 1 spot

Pacquaio actually was landing punches on a guy who was still a champion. At this stage Roy has the physical skills that most champions would dream of, but he is gunshy, and that makes him worse than 90% of the contenders.

I don't see how cutting a guy gets you credit, it seemed to a be a freak occurance not Joe hitting Roy to the face a million times, in fact he didn't land that much, its like you said its was Roy that didn't step on the peddle, Joe was allowed to walk all over him.

Neither fighter did much in the 12th round. I would have given it to roy just out of sympathy. The 12th was the worst round.

There was also a round in there maybe the sixth or 7th where he was countering and I gave it to him, but I jsut didn't like that they gave EVERY round to Calzaghe, I think based on how the fight was going not all the albeit few close rounds should have gone Joe's way.

    I agree with you.

I didn't score it whilst watching it but the first round was definitely 10-8 for Roy.

I was really worried for Joe after that and in the second round I thought Calzaghe still looked a bit ragged, I really think he was badly hurt in that first round.

I thought Jones won the second round on the night but I havn't watched it back yet.

The third round was huge for Calzaghe, he dominated and from then on took control.

There was that round where Calzaghe was rocked with an uppercut as well, that was a great punch, and the most significant action in that round, not enough to win it for Roy but if it would have been even I'd have had no complaints.

The 12 th round I agree Joe was mainly just showboating and I'd have given it to Roy just by default as he was trying to fight at least.

The rest of the rounds all went to Joe though, although Roy showed a few flashes in some of them.

118-109 sounded a bit harsh though, although like Big H said even if you give Roy the benefit of the doubt in the rounds I mentioned (and none of them were defnitely Roy rounds) then it was still a beat down.
