He should try to beat dawson first to get that cherry on top. If he doesn't beat dawson, so what, the 0 means nothing unless you crush all doubt about your record. Calzaghe beat two old past their prime fighters in a row. If he doesn't get a young hungry near prime lion on his resume now, he will forever hear people discredit him for fighting grampas.

No one in the game even gives Joe a fight. But, I think he should fight Hopkins again just to cement his legacy.

Say Joe fights Dawson and beats him and (I dont think this has any chance of happening but for the purposes of my point ill say it) Froch beats Kessler, attention will turn to froch.

It doesnt matter because Joe doesnt have a buff body that some of the gay boys on here can drool over like they did Lacy before his fight with Joe or Kesslers body and tattoo, or throw a big eye catching hay maker, Joe will never get recognition by some because he doesnt look or fight like they would want.

Joe can beat anyone and hurts some "fans" who actually cry after their fighter gets beat

There will always be another hope that can maybe give Joe a fight but until someone like that comes along Joe should retire because there are no big superstar threats out there, even Dawson for all his qualitys couldnt be made a favourite over Joe, so it wouldnt be very marketable.

Pavlik was seen as a wreaking machine who had a chance with his power, Dawson doesnt have that draw.

The only reason he should fight on would be to break Marciano's record of 49-0 and that would take 4 more fights. Otherwise he should just fight 1 fight to cement him against a prime contender. JT, Bute, Froch, or Dawson comes to mind. Hmm thats 4 more fights. Theres no way you could deny him anything if he pulled that off. He would be G.O.A.T.

    Marcianos recors isnt that great.

Only 7 title fights, and 2 were rematches and only during 3 years

Rocky fought alot of stiffs to get to championship level.

Liston and Foremans title reigns were also poor and over rated

Marciano fought the best that was out there at the time and KO'd pretty much all of them....never once did he coast to the finish line, he always wanted to please the crowd by giving them a KO.

Foreman demolished Joe Frazier who beat Muhammed Ali (once thought of as unbeatable) and therefore this made Frazier seemingly invincible and Foreman squashed him.

I agree with you about Liston but he also waited a long time for a title shot as there was only ONE title back then.

As for Calzaghe, I figure he'll continue fighters usually do that and losing only prolongs their careers if he was to do so he may spend 5 fights trying to clear off his legacy.
