Unbelievable to me that he is staying amateur. I am all for living the dream, reaching the pinnacle of it by getting the gold. But after this past Olympics, he surely must see how flawed the system is, and in particular, the USA handling of it and it's athlete's concerned with boxing. Some of the worst cornering I have seen.
Add to that the bizarre scoring debacle we all witnessed. Just too much of a gamble, IMO.
He can find a promoter easily. Maybe there is just not enough incentive for him right now, as was mentioned...perks possibly being offered to stay AM.
Just very surprising to me. I think he is very ready for a pro career. It's a process going pro, and takes time. Right now he is the perfect age to be molded into it.
