I think he would still have a chance to make the Hall of Fame if he never would have injured his back in the car accident. He is only 28 years old, fighters that age still usually have a lot of gas left in them (Hopkins, Wright, De La Hoya, Mayweather, etc). PBF is pound 4 pound number 1 in the world right now and he will be turning 30 so 28 is not old but sadly Vargas is damaged goods and beyond his prime at a young age because of injury. His battle with Trinidad was epic and even no he took a great beating he got his licks in on Trinidad. He was not the same Vargas in the De La Hoya fight despite the steroids but he did display alot of heart and the fight was very close (I had him winning) before the KO. The Shane Mosley fight shoulden't count against his legacy, by then he was damaged and both fighters are washed up. Besides the fight was boring and both warriors where a shade of their former selves. Mosley did not dominate like Trinidad and De La Hoya did but due to the eye it was stopped, the second fight should be a toss up just like the first one. Vargas does not have the ring credentials to make the Hall of Fame but he will go down as a solid fighter out of this generation. He no longer fights for a legacy just for the paycheck, but if he can make millions for 2 boring post prime fights against Mosley he is a smart man.
