Can anyone give me the scouting report on Daniel Jacobs? I saw his fight on the Hopkins - Pavlik undercard, and looking at boxrec he's fighting a ton (sometimes twice a month).

Anyone know anything about him besides the fact that he has good power? He looked like he had a wicked left hook to the body in the fight I saw.

I believe the nickname derives from people thinking he is "highly" gifted and is "The One"...

I think if they continue to showcase him the "hype" will begin. I take it that by his next 2 fights he will be talked about more.

Besides the power, he's def. got a lot of ring smarts. Cuts off a ring very well, he's got lethal combinations, handspeed is superb but he leaves himself wide open for counters. I've seen him get tagged a couple of times so that's something to keep in mind. I'm also putting a question mark on his stamina as in one occasion I can't remember now which fight it was I saw him take off a few rounds and just sit back.

Daniel Jacobs relies too much on his bat like sonar

I kid, I kid. Jacobs is a top notch prospect IMO, can switch gears, can jab, combo and lay into his shots. This year he is 11-0 with 10 KOs, gotta respect that.
